Accela Mobile enables Accela Civic Platform users who work primarily in the field to complete their tasks from their iOS mobile device, including:

• Insert comments using comment controls that allow ad hoc as well as custom, favorite, and recent comments
• View, edit, call (iPhone only), or email record contacts
• Create, reschedule, and reassign records and inspections
• View and update record and inspection conditions
• Update record information, including status, custom forms and tables, and workflow steps
• View jobs on a map and navigate to the job location
• Download record and inspection data locally to the device
• Update records and inspections without a data connection, save the updates locally, and sync when a data connection is available

They replace this app with a previous version. The previous version was way more user-friendly easier to look through the notes to find an inspection and the notes that were put in for it you could open up multiple notes at one time this new app you have to click three times and then back out click three times and then back out it is three times plus the work to look up an inspection note. It was easier to search addresses on the old app. The old App the prominent letters were the address now it’s the inspection whether it be a groundwork or a top out. The inspectors that I work with are all in agreement. That it would be easier if the address was the prominent to sort out where we’re going for the day. Also, the old app had color coatings when you approve something or rejected something so it was easier to see what I’ve been done for the day. It is hard to make your list in the morning with this new app. I wish they would bring back the old app or bring back a lot of the features of that the old app have.

The newest update made this app about 33.3% less efficient. I can no longer upload files from my adobe pdf’s as I was fluidly able to do prior to 2 weeks ago. Considering I know have to transfer all of my documents and upload them at a later time it is costing countless hours every week rather than being able to seamlessly upload the files directly from the iPad. This is a major hurdle as converting to pdf allowed me to bundle multiple documents into a single upload while photos can only be uploaded individually. Considering I am only able to add 1 inspection at a time as opposed, it seems that the app wants everything to take me more time. I would love to be able to use the app seamlessly like I had been before the most recent update.

I work for a large local government and we have used Accela for years now. We recently began using the mobile app and it it’s TERRIBLE. With the most recent update the app does NOT WORK at all. I am not able to scroll down or up on any pages. The worst part is that you are no longer able to look up comments left by any other individual other than yourself, which defeats the purpose of the app. I have tried un installing and re installing the app several times to no avail. This failure of an app is costing tax payers a untold amount of time and money in my jurisdiction . The only reason I’m leaving a 1 star rating is because 0 is not an option

This app has been completely non-functional for several people in the department, not even getting past login. You could not find a less functional app than this. Once you do enter, none of the promised features are even remotely functional. All processes are extremely slow. I can only imagine how terribly their software is designed and/or how lacking whatever servers might be needed to run this software is in capability. If you can avoid choosing this company and software I highly recommend selecting a different company. Accela has since abandoned development support after missing deadline after deadline.
