Most user reviews suggest that Airyware Tuner is the best guitar tuner. However, this app is not limited to guitars. It can assist in tuning more than 400 orchestral and other instruments, including the piano, violin, flute, bagpipe, trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, cello, mandolin, veena, church organ, harmonica, recorder, ukulele, bass, banjo, and more. It performs equally well on stage, at home, or on the street. Bass guitarists and contrabassists particularly love it, and piano tuners and luthiers use it professionally. With its instantaneous response, scientific precision, waveform inspector, denoiser, and true strobe view, this tuner is the choice of musicians who demand the very best sound.
The tuner seems good, so much so that I bought a paid version But… now that I can do things like intentionally (or accidentally) click on presets or settings, there is not a visible/clear way to go back to the home/main screen. If I close the app, it takes me back where I last was (stuck in settings screen for example). So I’ve had to delete the app and redownload multiple times, just so I can get back to the tuning screen and finish tuning. Please explain or fix the app.UPDATE: Ok - so you have to swipe. Adding some stars back to my review. Why not make that crystal clear in your UI for users?

My initial review was rather unfair in that the iOS prompting to write a review was not caused by the software developer, hence my edit.This tuner is very easy to use and is very easy to see in either a bright setting with lots of lights or a dark stage setting. It appears to be very accurate and comes with numerous useful settings like key, which gives an audible response to which ever one you select. This tuner is not just for guitar as there are a plethora of settings you can choose from starting with a 10 hole harmonica to a zouk and just about anything you can imagine in between. One of the nice features that keeps this from being overwhelming is that you can simply choose your favorites and have only those as your default choices. You can go back to the main pool and choose others if you need to later. I use one for guitar and one for bass. You can also select whatever temperament you’d like and even edit them to taste. I have been using tuners for about 50 years and in all of that time the Airyware Tuner has been my constant favorite. It is on my iPhone and iPad and has kept my instruments in tune for a long time. I highly recommend this app!

The tuner NEVER requests, requires, or forces you to write a review. If such a prompt appears, it is initiated by iOS, not the tuner. You can disable this behavior in Settings > Apps > App Store > In-App Ratings & Reviews.

Not only is this an amazingly accurate tuner (I use the strobe setting) I was pleasantly surprised to find that it includes tons of “sweetening” intonation settings. I’m an acoustic guitarist and tried the James Taylor sweetening setting and my guitar sounds truly heavenly! I also tune my instruments to 432Hz and what a treat that I can have such accuracy, sweetening intonation as well as having the beautiful tuner interface that I love much more than the staple strobe tuner that I won’t even mention here because I honestly love this app more.I am so blessed that they provide so must for free that I’m going to purchase my license right away and you should too! These guys put their hearts and souls into creating this masterpiece and we must compensate their nothing-less-than-genius work.
Easier to read than Peterson. Sweeteners included.

I was contacted sometime ago by the developer to try this app. I have many tuning apps on my devices including the Peterson istrobe app which I paid for both the app and sweeteners. The Airyware app is by far the tuner that I turn into in my devices. I find it to be extremely accurate though some settings are not as intuitive as I would like. As an example my iPhone will show within a 10th of a cent but I'm having difficulty finding about setting on my iPad and it is only right now showing full cents. Additionally you can turn it into a clip on by purchasing a clip an attachment that plugs into your electronic device and have a more accurate tuner than a standard Snark.
