"Cytus II" is a music rhythm game created by Rayark Games. It's our fourth rhythm game title, following the footsteps of three global successes, "Cytus", "DEEMO" and "VOEZ". This sequel to "Cytus" brings back the original staff and is a product of hardwork and devotion.
In the future, humans have redefined internet development and connections. We can now easily sync the real world with the internet world, changing life as we have known for thousands of years.
In the mega virtual internet space cyTus, there exists a mysterious DJ legend Æsir. His music has an irresistible charm; people fall madly in love with his music. Rumor has it that every note and beat of his music hits the audiences in
the depths of their souls.
One day, Æsir, who had never shown his face before, suddenly announced that he will be holding the first mega virtual concert —— Æsir-FEST and will invite a top idol singer and a popular DJ as opening performances. The instant the ticket sales began, an unprecedented rush occurred. Everyone wanted to see Æsir's real face.
On the day of the FEST, millions of people were connected to the event. At one hour before the event started, the previous world record for most simultaneous connection was smashed. The whole city was on its feet, waiting for Æsir to descent from the skies...

I am absolutely floored at the quality of this game. I was just looking to scratch that rhythm game itch with something new, so I downloaded this. I was not expecting the experience I got. The mechanics of the rhythm game itself are fun and intuitive, and the difficulty is challenging (especially Chaos mode) but not so much that levels are impassable after a few attempts. But I’ve played plenty of mobile rhythm games that were probably comparable in gameplay mechanics alone. The music itself is diverse and unique, as it follows a narrative of a variety of composers and performers, so each character whose music you play has a unique style. Even the electronic music (which isn’t really my genre) is fun to play and listen to, especially from the perspective of it being something written by one of these characters you grow attached to over time. But the thing that really truly wowed me about this game was the story. The character interactions, both in “IM” and in the offline interactions are super realistic and natural, and the way the story unfolds and ties everything together is incredibly addictive and engaging. I’ve found myself spending hours playing this game just to read the next thing that happens. I definitely intend to purchase more character DLC in the future, and as another reviewer stated, think this would make an incredible anime.
THEY REALLY ADDED DEEMO. My heart won’t be able to take this.

I finished the main story line. (Possible spoilers) Now I know why I completely feel IN LOVE with the game from the start. The endings parts..AMAZING! Truly, poetic cinema. Usually endings to things make me sad that stuff is over or they’re not good closure(not to say I don’t totally hope there will be more updates) but this! Everything and everyone, all came together! But it’s was still very reflective and realistic! Also, finally being able to see all the characters in the beautiful video’s next to each other and hearing THEIR VOICES! Like some fabulous anime! But then, unique effects and audios! Then, realizing that we (the player) had been involved all along! The scenes moved me, I teared up a couple times! But at the same time, exciting, definitely wanted to play more at every new development. The characters have all been through the same tragedy, but in their own personal ways. Then when it’s over, things go back to how they were , but THEY themSELVES have changed into better versions of themselves! Also, I’m a sucker for the “villain” being a corrupted tormented soul, and you really see that in their last moments, as she is literally begging to die. My heart! The relationships the characters build with each other are so heartwarming and cute. And this is shown with how their music molds together when you play! And the very last clip, seems that the architects still might have something up their sleeve...! I could go on! Ughh! I just want to say that the creators should be really proud and I thank them for this masterpiece. I seriously recommend it! It deserves more love!

A lot of people complain about the DLC, but if you buy a little at a time it’s not so bad. I will say that the amount of DLC is a little overwhelming but they’re $5-$10 each, which isn’t super expensive. New character packs help unlock more story and music genres, while music packs spice up your current characters. Paying for the Capso was a bit odd and I’m not sure I agree with Rayark’s decision but there isn’t much to be done. Even without the DLC there’s a lot of free content for $2, and it’s only on version 3.0. A lot of people compare the amount of free content in C2 to C1 but C1 took four years of updates to get where it is now, and even though the main storyline is finished (RIP the canon ending) they’re not finished with this game just yet.Actual review of the game itself: I started this back during 1.6-1.7 and was surprised by how good the story was. I saved up money here and there to buy all the DLC and was not disappointed. I just now finished 3.0 after being lazy and I have to say C2 is probably my favorite game ever. I’ve never seen so much thought put into the music and storyline before. Hearing CHAOS and then V. for the first time was amazing, especially hearing everything that had been put into them. II itself is a tearjerker of a song, especially when you consider what it is by the lore of the game. I’ve never been so immersed in a game before. Rayark really threw players for a loop with specific plot points and twists (cough final cutscene in Neko DLC cough) that kept current players guessing for weeks. Rayark really outdid themselves with this game.
Amazingly addictive and fun
V.143
This game was surprisingly addictive to the point where it actually cured my texting addiction once and for all. Now instead of wanting to text people the second I get on my phone my first thought is to play Cytus. I even get annoyed when people text me while I’m playing this game which was a surprise (I get so intense trying to get full combos haha). As much as other rhythm games I’ve played have had this affect on me for a short time, this one really seemed to stick a little more than the others, mostly due to the way the gameplay is formatted. I absolutely love the way the notes look and the different things you have to do to clear them. The line constantly moving actually makes it more interactive than going cross eyed staring at one line at the bottom of the screen and it really tests my reaction time. If I had more money on me I would definitely spend it on unlocking more characters but what they give you for free is definitely satisfactory for what feels like a premium game that you’d pay ten bucks for upfront on the old App Store. The story is pretty interesting and my favorite artist is PAFF (I could play Lilac for Anabel all day). I enjoy the mix of Japanese songs and English songs as well as plain DJ mixer tunes and it really helps keep things fresh. I was a little disappointed I’d have to pay for Miku’s character, but again, if I wasn’t a broke teenager I would definitely buy her. The animations are amazing and I want this to be turned into an anime so badly. I can’t wait for future updates. Thanks for this amazing game. It’s really one of the best games I’ve played.
