The Family Home Evening App is for Christian families looking for a tool to help guide them in family night together.
The apps purpose is to draw families closer to the Savior, Jesus Christ. The app is designed to be a mechanism to establish consistency and order in our homes by teaching healthy core beliefs and positive principles.
The Family Home Evening (FHE) app takes about five minutes to initially set up. From there, each weekly family night can be planned in one minute. It includes content (links and ideas for songs, lessons, activities and treats) for more than two years of Family Home Evenings without duplication. It’s clean, simple, customizable, and includes iMessage stickers. The content is from many Christian sources: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS), PragerU, FaithGrows, PrinceEa, etc.
Because of my own personal beliefs, this app was designed around Christian principles taught by the LDS faith. However, the app can be used by anyone of any faith to tailor to their own family values and core beliefs. My desire is that parents teach their children in their home, to learn and grow as a family in a safe and loving environment.
I am an independent iOS developer. I am a member of the LDS faith. I am not employed, paid, sponsored, directed, or endorsed by the church. I have built this app of my own will and design. The content, lessons, and topics created are of my own personal opinions.
I encourage users to search, ponder, pray for their own lessons and topics and add to the template that this Family Home Evening App provides.

This app is amazing. It has so many features that are great ways to get your family involved. It takes so many different aspects of what your family home evening can be and it helps you incorporate what you feel is important for your family. A great way to stay organized and unified as a family. Very well thought out and innovative. Things that I hadn’t even thought of as a possibility for my family home evenings have come up and our family has definitely benefited from that enrichment. I love it! I think everyone should try it and see how it could help your family come closer together and closer to the Savior.

Great little FHE app

What a great app. It keeps our FHE organized and simple to do. I like that you can add your own lessons, etc., to it as well, and that you can let it auto select who does what to avoid children’s arguments over it. Ha. My only slight criticism, is that I wish it auto selected new lessons for you each week if you chose to let it do that, but it’s not a big deal to go in and select things yourself and that way I can try to line up things that go together. Thanks to the creator of this app, FHE is easy and fun.
Cool but needs connectivity

There is a lot of thought and great content in this app. Still, it is set up for just one device to have it. For it to be useful for me and my family, it needs to be able to connect to multiple devices under one master account so one person can keep it updated and all the family can see the assignments and work on their part without having to borrow my phone or share the same device. Yes, we could download it and set it up individually to each device and then have it auto rotate, but it would be better to have a master account that connects.

Concept is great, but functionally has room for improvement. Almost a year ago I suggested the idea of being able to reorder the tasks (ex: we like to sing a song before prayer to set the tone). I suggested the idea, but I noticed this app hasn’t been updated in two years. The developer is active in replying to comments, but doesn’t think the app needs updating in more than two years?! Maybe two years ago this was a great app, but due to basic features, lack of improvement, lack of support, it’s okay. But when it comes to technology, like many things in life, not making improvements is one way to become obsolete...

All good points. Thanks for the honest review. For the price of “Free” I think it’s pretty awesome. I do plan on updating the app, but it’s not easy or quick because it’s only me and I only work in the app when I have free time. Sounds like that time has come. 😉
