more I don’t even know what version of this I started on. Despite the fact that it’s gotten kind of annoying in v7, I won’t stop using it. I set my browsers to forget all sessions because it’s so easy to re-log in every time via 1pw. The switch to a subscription plan doesn’t bug me. They gotta keep the lights on, and this is one way. The total yearly price is about what it used by be sold for when you had to buy it to download it. The Mac App store claimed there was a yearly price, but I couldn’t figure out how to get to it in the app, but even monthly is still less than I pay for hot chocolate at the coffee shops around here. What don’t I like: The auto submit vanished as a feature. I can’t find it to turn it back on any where. The new mini/browser UI is harder to figure out, not simple and streamlined like v6 was. Picking from the suggested list in v6 did the fill and pushed the button for you. In v7 you have to pick from the list, push the fill button, and then push “Go” in the browser page. This is not a UX improvement, going from one click to 2 or 3. I have zero interest in the on-line vaults for home. Crucial for work, where we share vauts across the company. But at home, not so much. Took me a while to figure out how to make it ignore the on-line vault, but at least it was possible. And so, for doing it’s job, I’d give this version of the app 5 stars, and probably 2 for UX, so splitting the difference to 3 stars, somehow 4 stars doesn’t feel right.
Developer Response Thank you for the constructive feedback. Please get in touch with us so we can help, have a conversation and also show you how to switch from a monthly to annual plan. Mathieu, 1Password

I’ve just installed and updated to 1Password 7. It’s a solid update with nice interface enhancements. I was thrilled to see the addition of the Watchtower function that alerts me to potentially compromised, outdated, and duplicate passwords — a real plus. Even better, 1Password’s Watchtower can also display which websites offer Two Factor Authentication, which I use wherever I can. Seeing where I can add this to other websites and accounts is very important. Kudos, guys!A feature request I had hoped would make this new update but didn’t was an expansion of categories under which you can organize my passwords, IDs, Serial Numbers, Notes, and other information. This is common in some competing applications, and a couple of competitors also allow users to create custom categories. While 1Password allows for a wide range of tags, something I also use quite a bit, expanding the variety of Categories would be a real help. I know that software developers can’t fit in every request on a major update, but I hope this will be a priority in the future. Still, 1Password is my favorite application of its kind. And believe me, I have tried many of them, often with disastrous results. Well done, guys.
Developer Response Thank you so much for the review groupeone! Custom categories are currently being beta tested, so we are definitely thinking about it ;) Daniel, AgileBits

I bought the iphone, ipad, and macos versions of this software back in the day and used them for many years becoming dependent on the ease of use and the awesome security they provided. Finally started seeing some issues with the dropbox syncing and the app was becoming unusable. I figured I had my $70 or $80 worth of value for (5?) years of use and it was time to support the compnay with a family subscription. Frustrated that I couldn't get a subscription through the App Store (for my purpsoes this was way better), I ended up signing up through the website. The product is VERY COMPLICATED. I had two vaults I tried merging in (old 1Password) and it ended up duplicating everything. Upon downloading 1Password7 I must have written down the master password wrong because after two successful attemps I was unable to log in anywhere again. I am forced to delete this new account losing my 30 day trial (arg) and starting over. Dowloading 1Password7 AGAIN (3 times actually, twice from the app store and once the .dmg from website) I find it's locked to the old master password I don't have. I am able to find how to reset the app. Maybe I can now start over. Well this works except I lost a bunch of passwords in the process. Was this user error? Sure, I take responsiblilty. My advice, new customers will like this product. Loyal customers such as myself, make sure you have a backup plan because there is no easy way to migrate the date. Very unhappy right now.

I am a blind customer and this app works really well with VoiceOver. In fact, I've been with this company for years. I think I remember 1Password 4. I even bought a separate license for both my computer and phone because I really needed that seamless integration. But the thing that really kept me here, aside from the company's nicely detailed and creative app update descriptions, was the fact that even back then, 1Password was simply the most accessible password manager around. I tried a couple others, but left because their services weren't possible for me to use independently. Certainly, 1Password Mini had its issues, but the main app has always been dependable and with this version of the app, the mini section works super well for me.As someone already stated, it's so easy to organize every bit of sensitive info into one place. I am a 1Password subscriber and the cost really isn't that much. I mean if you think about it, a lot of subscriptions cost $10 a month. Even having a decent cell plan costs at least $40. 1Password is worth it to me because I use the app every day and it is an essential app. If I were to start my phone from scratch, it would be the first app I install. Also, I like the automatic synching of my vault, automatically copying one-time passwords for easy pasting, and the subscription is one fee for all platforms. If you have Windows and Mac and iOS, it's a really great deal.Keep it up with the accessibility. I saw someone from the Mac team posting over on AppleVis, and that is awesome. You guys are serious about VO compatibility, and a company like that deserves people's dollars.

You can now securely share virtually any 1Password item with anyone – even if they don't use 1Password!
To get started, open the share menu and select "Share" to generate a link, specify who you want to share the item with and for how long, then send out the link however you wish. It's as simple as copy and paste, without the security risks that come from pasting sensitive info directly into chat and email.
Use it to send logins to an external contractor, share the Wi-Fi password with your visiting in-laws, or pass a Secure Note to your partner.
Happy sharing!

Today we're delighted to bring a BIG update to 1Password on your Mac. The first thing you may notice is the brand-new icon! It is tailored to be right at home in your Dock on macOS Big Sur, while also being cozy on previous versions of macOS. The vault doors have also been refreshed for a subtle, more modern look. And the item detail view has a thoughtfully considered new design.
That's not all — we have three big features to improve the way you use 1Password every day.
## New Safari Experience
1Password has a whole new experience in Safari — it will intelligently offer logins, credit cards, and identities right on the webpage. Furthermore, 1Password now deftly fills multi-page login forms and one-time codes. Using 1Password in Safari has never been better.
## Virtual Payment Cards from Privacy
For our US-based customers, we now offer integration with Privacy in Safari. Our friends at Privacy protect online payments similar to how 1Password protects your passwords. Instead of entering your real credit card information, Privacy creates a unique virtual payment card for each service.
When you create a Privacy card using 1Password in Safari, 1Password will offer to save that virtual card so it's ready the next time you need it.
## Unlock with Apple Watch
Today's 1Password update expands the convenience of unlocking your information while maintaining security. You can now unlock 1Password from your Apple Watch on any Mac laptop with Touch ID, and many newer models of Mac mini, iMac, and Mac Pro.
The best part is Unlock with Apple Watch works in concert with Touch ID, meaning you will get a prompt for both, and using either will unlock 1Password.
We are so excited to get all these fantastic new features into your hands! We hope you will enjoy using them as much we enjoyed making them for you.
1Password never prompts you for a review because we value your workflow too much to interrupt it. If you feel generous and have a couple of minutes, please leave a review. It makes a huge difference to us. Thank you in advance. :-)
If you need us you can find us at @1Password on Twitter. If you have questions or need support just pop on over to support.1password.com and we'll point you in the right direction.
