Connect my tablet is doing exactly that: It connects your previous generation tablet from Wacom (TM) to your Mac and restores at least its critical functionality to be creative with Photoshop (TM) and other programmes in Catalina, Mojave, HighSierra and Sierra. For many models and MacOS versions, the Wacom preference pane, and therefore previous functionality, will be working again. For others, Connect my tablet provides a tool to let you change the most important pen settings.

In Catalina, as in the latest MacOS versions, the pen functions and pen buttons work perfectly as well as most setting options for those buttons - after using Connect my tablet. However your preference pane, if it worked in earlier MacOS versions, may now not allow you to change tablet button settings (at least not without another third party product or your stored Preferences Backup file from a previous MacOS installation). It still allows Cintiq users to change pen functionality and to calibrate the pen - and other tablet users (if the preference pane worked in Mojave for you) to change at least your pen settings. If your preference pane did not work in earlier MacOS versions already, you can continue to use Connect my tablet to change your pen settings.
Also for the oldest tablets, the Utility programme from Wacom is no longer supported in Catalina. It was mainly useful to create backups of the preference settings. We may offer a new utility programme on the AppStore in the future for a modest price, if there is sufficient demand.

As you might have to install and de-install tablet drivers, you will have to have full admin rights on your computer.

With version 2.x you now get an expert system, guiding you step by step through the reconnection process - or, if needed - the change of settings.

Currently Connect my tablet supports and is tested on:
Bamboo: including CTH-460/461/470/661/670, CTL 460/470, MTE-450, CTE-450
Intuos: including GD and XD series (0 and 2 series); Intuos3 PTZ-430/431/630/631/930/1231W; CTH-series and many Intuos4 (e.g. PTK) and Intuos5 tablets (e.g. PTH)
Graphire: 2,3 and 4 series
Cintiq: including 18SX, 21UX, 13HD, DTU-2231 and others
But it works for many more tablets and you can always ask us at

Current capabilities for those tablets that not only need reconnection (and then their preference pane works again) but also require settings to be changed via Connect my tablet:

• Tablet/ Stylus connected
• One group of settings for all applications (although with different backups you can be application specific)
• Pen Pressure Sensitivity selectable
• Pen Buttons programmable (keystrokes, modifiers, clicks)
• Eraser programmable
• Double click assistance can be switched off/on
• Definition of the active tablet area
• Definition of the pen/stylus to switch to mouse mode from pen mode
• Change of tablet orientation in landscape mode (e.g. for left-handed artists)
• Addition of the Pan (Pan/Scroll) mode, to be assigned to stylus buttons (for most tablets)

We may add further settings for change if required and feasible. Again, just contact us at:

Ancient Wacom saved despite Catalina!

I have a 13 year old Wacom Bamboo Fun CTE-450 that ceased funtioning after updating my 2016 iMac to Catalina. I tried everything troubleshoot I could find from Wacom and nothing worked. After downloading the app, quite a bit of troubleshooting and some AMAZING customer service on their part my little tablet is not only fully funtional but it actually works better than I remember (some features never actually worked properly on my last computer but now they do!) I'm a little rusty when it comes to troubleshooting computer tech but their customer support (who was quick to respond despite being based out of the UK!) worked with me and once I started answering the apps questions correctly it got my tablet up and running! Thanks so much for the app teams extra assistance and for getting my ancient little tablet back in peak working order! Definitely worth the $10 (you saved me an extra $50 I would have otherwise spent on a new tablet!) Would have saved me a lot of headache if I had downloaded this Connect My Tablet sooner!

Thank you as well for your great feedback, it was a pleasure to help you :)! And actually, your tablet is the first CTE-450 model of hopefully many of this model type that was successfully connected now too to Catalina with Connect my tablet - so we actually learned something in the course of helping you. Our best wishes for your creative future!

Will require reading skills and patience to succede

I thought I was lost when I could not get my perfectly working 21 UX to interface with Mojave. I found user reviews of those who used this app and claimed sucess. I bought the Ap and long story short it eventually worked; However it's not automatic; you need to follow the instructions and make changes to parts of your system as each of us has a different comob of OS, Hardware and settings. Their new wizard will require your time, patience, some decent reading comprehension, and your ability to follow instructions, but it WILL WORK. I know the steps I had to do were frustrating as so many things in life have become automated, but I don't blame the ap developers as this situation was created by a mix of greed and growth at both Apple, Wacom and the apathy of users. I salute the developers of this ap who have made an affordable path for those of us who (Heavily) invested in our tablets in the past to continue to use them until the day they just die. Thank You.

Thank you very much for your kind and thorough review! It really motivates us to keep improving Connect my tablet. All the reasons you state, why it cannot be automatic are spot on. We keep changing and introducing ways to make it easier for the user to reconnect their tablet with Connect my tablet, but all within the safety cushion of Apple's MacOS. This ensures that the app stays safe but does require the user to consciously agree and do the recommended steps. For older tablets, Connect my tablet also allows the change of settings within the app. For newer ones, the Wacom preference pane works again. Thanks again and we keep trying to make it simpler!

Old, Dead Wacom - Resurrected On Catalina!

When I updated to Catalina my Wacom Bamboo CTH-470, which was working just fine in Mojave, was just dead on the new OS (I know, what a surprise). I tried different solutions (all with no success), then heard about Connect My Tablet. At first I was very skeptical as I was uncertain whether they were planning to or even could support older tablets on Catalina. So I sent them an email inquiring such. Their support was phenomenal. They were very responsive, and told me that they were actively working on it and the update would be out in a couple of weeks. A little over a week later, I get an email from them informing me that the update was finished - so I bought it and tried it out.

In the end theres not much to say - CMT just works! It was pretty easy to setup, but you do need to read and follow the instruction prompts. It does seem a bit weird at first, but they do a very good job simplifying it. The entire process took around 15-20 minutes, and my old Bamboo is now working on Catalina.

Between the great support and an app that does exactly what it says it does, I have no regrets with this purchase.

A very good app made by very good developers.
