Crop your team logos and remove unwanted backgrounds for a cleaner, more professional look. Even Sunday League deserves a bit of Premier League treatment. Profile photos, now in full screen. Tap any photo in a user's profile gallery to see it in all its glory. Because sometimes the little square just doesn't do justice to a proper football memory. And a bit of work behind the scenes. We've improved how screens behave with the keyboard, updated a few things under the bonnet and tidied up some rough edges. Same beautiful game, just a slightly better-looking app. If only fixing your team's defending were this easy.

This update gives managers and referees their moment in the spotlight. **Managers and Referees** You can now view managers and referees on match details, explore their profiles, and even add or edit their information, including photos. Because the people making the decisions deserve a bit of recognition too, even when you disagree with every single one. **More Football Stats** We've added dedicated Managers and Referees sections to your football statistics. Explore the managers and match officials you've encountered during your groundhopping adventures, with new profile tiles and overview counts. **Smarter Match Logging** Before adding a match manually, TheFans will now search for it first. Less typing, more football. Just how it should be. **Better Photos** We've introduced a new photo cropper for player photos and profile pictures, making it easier to get everyone looking their best. Make Your Profile Your Own: Choose which achievement badges appear on your profile. Hide the ones you're not interested in and rearrange the rest to show off what matters most to you. Your Trophy Cabinet: Explore your earned and locked achievements, see when you unlocked each badge and discover what's next. We've also made a few improvements behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. So get out there, visit another ground, watch another match and collect those badges. Introducing Compare. Ever wondered how your groundhopping record stacks up against your friends? Now you can find out. And, depending on the result, either enjoy the bragging rights or quietly pretend you never looked. Visit a friend’s profile and tap the new Compare button to put your football stats head-to-head. Compare countries, grounds, competitions, matches, teams, players, goals, minutes and distance travelled. You can also see what you have in common, including shared grounds, teams and competitions, plus the matches you’ve both attended. There are a few extra comparisons too, including highest and average attendances and a season-by-season view. And if you want to investigate further, you can dig into the details to see which grounds, teams, competitions and countries you share, as well as the ones only one of you has visited. Groundhopping was never a competition. Obviously. Until now.

**Football is better with mates. Now the stats can prove it.** You can now tag the friends you went to a match with, because some football memories are too good (or too painful) to claim you endured alone. When adding or editing a match, simply tag the people who were there with you and TheFans will keep track. And because we do love a stat, there’s a new way to see who your most loyal matchday companions are. Check your stats to discover who you’ve been to the most matches with. Your regular away-day partner. Your season-ticket neighbour. The mate who somehow convinces you that a Tuesday night trip across the country is a perfectly sensible idea. Tag your friends, build your matchday history together and find out who really deserves the title of your ultimate football companion. As always, we’ve also done a bit of tidying behind the scenes. Nothing worth troubling the referee about.

A bit more control over who gets to share your footballing world. You can now block users, which means they won’t be able to message you anymore. Because sometimes the final whistle really does mean the conversation is over. We’ve also added the ability to leave public groups. Joined one in a moment of enthusiasm and now wondering why you’re still there? You can quietly make your exit. No transfer request, awkward farewell speech or mutual consent required. A couple of small additions, but useful ones. Your messages, your groups, your choice.

Your TheFans profile is getting a bit more... well, you. Until now, your profile mostly lived inside TheFans. A perfectly respectable existence, but perhaps a little sheltered. That changes with this update. You can now choose your own @handle and get a personal TheFans profile link. Share it on Instagram, WhatsApp, X, TikTok, stick it in your bio, send it to your mates, or casually drop it into conversation when someone questions exactly how many football grounds you've visited. And it works the other way too. You can add your Instagram, X, TikTok and YouTube accounts to your profile, making it easier for other fans to find and follow you outside TheFans. So your groundhopping life no longer has to stop at the edge of the app. Choose your handle. Add your socials. Share your profile. Your 147th photo of a slightly questionable non-league pie finally has the audience it deserves.

More stats. Because apparently we weren’t keeping enough already. Your Stats Overview has had a proper upgrade, with more ways to look back at your football and groundhopping history. You can now see more detailed football stats including your first and latest match, highest scorelines, biggest winning margins, highest and average attendance, time spent watching football, distance travelled, and plenty more. Whether you’re counting matches, collecting football grounds and stadiums, following teams across the country, or travelling slightly unreasonable distances for a Tuesday night fixture, TheFans now gives you even more numbers to prove it was all worth it. Probably best not to calculate how much you spent along the way.

Nothing exciting to report, which is rather the point. We’ve tidied up some old code, upgraded a few things behind the scenes, and generally given the app a good clear-out. Think of it as putting the kettle on, sorting out that drawer everyone avoids, and carrying on as if nothing happened. TheFans should now be a little tidier under the bonnet.

A bit of work behind the scenes this time. We’ve given TheFans a proper pre-season tune-up: tightened a few bolts, polished the turnstiles and made sure everything is ready for the new football season. No headline signings, but plenty of improvements to keep the app faster, smoother and more reliable while you’re tracking matches, checking in at football grounds and building your groundhopping history. We've given the Prediction Game a bit of a tidy-up. Previously, the Fixtures tab behaved like that one friend who insists on telling you every detail of every match that's already happened. Helpful at first, slightly exhausting after a while. Now the Fixtures tab only shows upcoming matches that still need your predictions, making it much easier to spot what's left and get your guesses in before kick-off. A few under-the-bonnet improvements have also been made to keep things running smoothly, as any respectable football prediction machine should. Update, predict, and prepare to explain why your "certain winner" somehow lost 4-1.

No shiny new signing this time — more of a sensible training-ground session, a few stern words in the dressing room, and one or two bugs quietly shown the exit door. TheFans keeps getting more dangerously addictive for groundhoppers. This update is a proper chunky one. Distance Travelled is finally here properly. Set your home location and TheFans will now automatically calculate the distance travelled for new matches you add. No more opening Google Maps like it’s 2009. Going to a World Cup, Euros, away weekend or random football adventure somewhere you can’t pronounce? You can now create Trips too. Matches linked to a trip will calculate distance in a much smarter way, so your local matches while away won’t suddenly think you teleported home between games. We’ve also added: • Auto-fill distance for newly added games • Option to sync and calculate distance for older posts • Better tracking for your lifetime football-related suffering across the country (and beyond) Another big addition: TV Stats. At last, your evenings watching football from the sofa now count too. You can track TV matches separately with dedicated stats, because watching a rainy Tuesday Championship game from your living room is still commitment. Feedback tracking is now much better. Previously, you could report incorrect data and then… nothing. Like shouting into the football void. Now you can see the status of your feedback directly from your profile settings and keep track of what’s been fixed, reviewed, or still waiting for us to stop arguing with databases. This update lets you attach videos directly to your groundhopping posts, making your memories feel a bit more alive — and a bit less like CCTV evidence from 2007.
