iPhone
iPhone-based vHIT app for physicians and physical therapists. Approved for research use in Japan and available for research purposes only.
This application enables video head impulse testing (vHIT) using an iPhone. A dedicated fixation device is attached to the iPhone and held in place by the subject biting on the mouthpiece. The 3D design data for this fixation device are available on the developer’s website.
The application records eye movements using high-speed video capture and analyzes the recorded video to generate graphs of eye movement. Simultaneously, motion sensor data from the iPhone are acquired and used to generate graphs of head movement.
The analysis results can be saved as image files. These saved images can also be attached to and sent via email.
This application and fixation device have been used in research studies approved by an institutional ethics committee in Japan. They are intended for research purposes only and must not be used for clinical diagnosis or treatment.
