Seattle Recycle & Garbage 4+

I don’t know if I *needed* this, exactly, but it’s great. Even though I was always pretty sure I remembered which week was recycling and which was not, I wound up looking it up almost every week — because you don’t want to guess wrong and have to wait two more weeks.

After about 30 weeks of typing my address into the website, I thought I’d try the app. Presto! Now I get an alert the night before, and I don’t guess or forget or have to look it up yet again.

More things in my life should just simply work like this.

Put in your address and be ready for the amazingness this app provides. Not only can you find out what's being picked up tomorrow, it also will give you an alert reminder when you want it to! While that's not as exciting as a beating your top score on bejeweled or getting retweeted by a celebrity, this sturdy little app is here for you. Has quick links to the website for some basic, yet important info. Easy to use. A new fav.

Do I need this app? Absolutely not. Is it still one of maybe three apps total that I turn on notifications for? Yes.
It’s dumb that I need an app to tell me that Thursday is garbage day, but, I use it every week.
It’s useful, makes my life better, and reduces the ‘just put out recycle and hope it’s the right Thursday’ shuffle.
It also has information if I want it. It doesn’t make me dig three layers in to know if it’s recycle day. In the great wasteland of apps, this is one of very few that I’m happy to hear from.
Whoever built this should take a stab at fixing our roads, and dealing with our drug addiction and homelessness issues. Seems like it’s one of a few slam dunks the City of Seattle has cranked out.
