银川市妇幼保健院成立于1986年，是银川市卫生计生委直属的一所集医疗、教学、科研、预防、保健、康复、急救于一体的三级甲等妇幼保健专科医院，是宁夏回族自治区规模最大的妇幼保健机构。占地面积10430.97平方米，建筑面积3.5万平方米。现有职工711人，其中正式职工333人，聘用职工378人，卫生专业技术人员603人，高级职称101人，中级职称105人，博士1名，硕士28名。编制床位240张，实际开放床位达310张。设有门诊部、住院部、急诊科、保健部和6个社区卫生服务站。年门诊量近60万余人次，住院人数近1.5万人次以上。
医院坚持“立足银川、面向全区、辐射周边、争创一流”的战略方针，秉承“院有重点、科有特色、人有专长”的办院理念，不断加快专科建设发展，先后建成人类辅助生殖中心、产前筛查诊断中心、新生儿疾病筛查中心。生殖医学研究中心是自治区优势重点专科，2004年诞生了宁夏第一例试管婴儿。小儿康复科是银川市重点专科，是自治区首家开展小儿脑瘫系统康复诊疗的专业科室。目前医院拥有产科、妇科、新生儿科、妇女儿童保健、乳腺外科等十多个特色专科。
