Fixes to the beta sharing destination functionality. A couple of new types of campsite, to allow the creation of a "Free sites" filter.

New in beta this version, Mundus is a share destination from Safari. If it can, the app will create a candidate pin from your webpage, and allow you to do the final edits before pin creation.

Fixed the search table results appearing a little too high up in iOS 26

Added a simple UI on the account page to clear the Next Trip. Squashed a couple of bugs, particularly international dialling.

A couple of minor bug fixes and a new icon for small campsites.

We now support many more activities, such as surfing, SUP, golf, fishing and more. A couple of minor bugs were squashed.

Added support for your next trip, so that your favourites can stay as just that, your favourites!

A minor fix to the editing of a place in the full-screen view. The swipe gesture is also now disallowed, which is consistent with the removal of the minimise button. Once you've edited a place, you need to decide whether to save the changes or cancel.

We had to remove What Three Words from Mundus as sadly they now have a paid subscription model. As we charge a one-off fixed amount for our app, we can't support any regular subscription payments. Instead of the what three words, we now add the GPS location to a place when you share it. Added a new type of camping - off-road. Made a few fixes to the way aspects work so that searching is improved. In particular, you can now add a custom menu item that includes the food aspect. Now, in the same way that you can search for a restaurant that's dog-friendly, you can search for e.g. museums that serve food.

Your map pins now show their creation date. There is a new setting in Apple Settings which lets you choose how your pins group together - either all pins, or just pins of a certain type. Minor tweaks to pin types and icons. Changed the name of the User side panel to Account. Changed not to show the tutorial tips by default for a new user. They can get in the way too much of just exploring the app. The button to show then again is still there if you feel you need the extra help.

Increase the clustering of the map pins for improved performance.

A minor change to add a new type of camping, plus some icon changes to make sense of it.

Minor change to allow two pins with the same W3W as long as they have a different name.

Added two new types - posh nosh and event. The latter is for something that only happens at a certain time of year - a festival, for example. Eventually we'll be offering more support for these in the UI, but for now you can at least filter to find all your events and nothing else! Added the address of your pin to the text when you share it. Changed the search to search the town of your pin, and not its description. This prevents a load of unrelated pins appearing, and means you can quickly find all of the pins in a certain town. Search also works better if you type in some GPS co-ordinates - you'll always be able to make a pin, even if the result of looking up the location in Apple is a wide area, rather than a location. Squashed quite a few bugs which have crept in with iOS upgrades - login screen UI issues, problems with the tutorial popups, and more. Updated all our pods.

A few small changes and fixes: 1. When manually adjusting a pin, you can tap on your current location (which now shows in the adjust map pane) and your pin will move there. 2. Share text and content improved 3. Fixed a bug where Mundus failed to make a new pin as it thought it existed already (usually when the address was not very specific). 4. Fixed a bug in sharing to Garmin Drive, where Garmin Drive doesn't like a place name with an ampersand in it.

You can now share to Garmin Drive - your places will be placed in your Garmin Sat Nav's favourites for you to navigate to on the road. (We actually share a GPX file - this may work with other Sat Navs but we haven't tested! Let us know if there's one you would like us to support.) Mundus's tutorial tips have been updated to include our new features. If you want to see them again, you can do so by going to your User screen and tapping the button.

Added what three words support. You can search for a place by typing in the W3W - either finding a pin you already have or getting the chance to add one at that location. The W3W shows in your pin's details, and you can long press on it to copy and search in the W3W app. You can also still add a pin by search for the (lat,lon), but now the reverse geocode happens before the pin is created, so that you can confirm whether you want to create it.

Update for iOS 16 to fix missing search bar. Added ability to delete user. Fixed bug with pin deletion across multiple devices.

Added a couple of new pin types - "bike" and "forage" Added an email contact field for places, and a button on the small pin view to quickly launch the Mail app. Fixed a couple of bugs: - You can now make a pin even if Mundus fails to find an address for your location. - Fixed a couple of minor UI niggles which crept in with iOS 14

Minor bug fixes.

The biggest news has to be that the rare but annoying missing search bar bug has finally been squashed. The search bar wasn't really missing, just quite hard to spot when it chose to blend itself into the map. If this caused you pain, please give Mundus another try! And more positively, you can now customise your filter menu far more. You can choose multiple categories and sub categories, and then give the filter a name and icon of your choice. For example, my father uses a wheelchair, and likes to see our dog, so I've now got a lovely filter menu item called "Dad lunch" with pubs and cafés which are both accessible and dog-friendly. Give it a whirl and let me know what you think.

Updated to iOS 13 & Swift 5. Now includes Sign in with Apple and a storyboard launch screen as required by Apple. A couple of bugs with the search bar have been squashed.

The main change in this version is a more complicated caching / fetching strategy with respect to our backend server, aimed at reducing costs - this means that I can sleep easily with the very slight risk that Mundus gets featured by Apple! An excellent side-effect is that pins are fetched much more quickly on start-up, if they are already in the local cache. If you find any issues with this (you shouldn't, but you never know) please contact me and I will help you sort it out. There are some minor changes in the pin types, in particular the addition of "airport" to the transport types. Finally there's a minor change to ensure things look good in iOS 13. As part of this the side menu is lighter and cleaner, and filter menu has better contrast against the blurred map background, with the other buttons and the search bar disappearing from sight too.

The big change in this version of Mundus is that you can customise your map's filter menu. If you like camping, but don't stay in hotels, then change it up. Same if you're a vegan or vegetarian - move that filter right up to the main filter menu for quick access. You can add filter items and delete them too, so make that menu as big or as small as suits you. There's a few other changes too, and even (whisper it) the odd bug fix. Firstly we've improved our automatic AI that we've trained to recognise what type of place you're adding. (Yes, it's a switch statement. But it works, most of the time.) Then we've added some new types for you - there's far less risk of crowding out your menu now that you can set it up how you like. There are transport types, just as railway stations and ferries. You can mark wild camping spots, you can add bed and breakfast places and hostels and you can even add pins for people - friends you are going to visit on holiday maybe. Also, you know how you could mark a place as not dog-friendly? Well now you can do that with "wheelchair accessible" and "vegetarian / vegan" too. Sometimes it's worth knowing where not to go. Or you might object to vegans. Finally a little secret for you. You can add a place by its GPS coordinates. Just type it into the search bar in round brackets, like so (0.0046, 50.456), hit enter and a new pin will be made for you. Useful if your place is not very easy to find by its address, but you know where it is! (Don't forget to use minus signs where appropriate!) There's a couple of bug fixes. Firstly, things look a little better on iPhone 5S, and secondly we've squashed a weird one where the notes field went on a little wander off-screen under some quite rare circumstances.

Squashed some bugs. - when there are squillions of results in your search, it helps if you can scroll through them! - ask before deleting one of your lovely hand-crafted pins. You can take a slick UI too far, you know. - fixed a very obscure bug with the notes field not resizing properly on a new pin, on Wednesday afternoons, in February. - cluster map pins according to their type. The jury is still out on this one - see what you think!
