I like this app, and find it helpful when we can’t decide where to go to eat. I have a “Master List” which has everything from high end to burgers. Another called “The 10 places we always go“ because we already know the price point and favorite menu item, but can’t decide what we are hungry for. I didn’t give the app 5 stars because as others have said, it doesn’t find chain restaurants. It also seems to find surprising number of gelato and cookie places. Recently, I have been putting together a list of trendy bars that I have read about and want to remember to check out. They are listed on Yelp, but I guess they don’t fit the criteria for the app. My list building workaround has been to add the name, or cut and paste the bar’s URL into the app.

I was searching for something like this and was happy to find such a great app. I use it for meal planning for the week. To remove ads is $0.99 which I thought was a great price. Happy to pay. I have a couple of feature requests: can you add more filters for things like delivery, outdoor seating, groups, and food for kids? These usually available in Yelp. Also - major bonus points if the saved list can be tied to my collections lists in Yelp. I build out a lot of lists in there like “Places to try” or “Favorites” or “with guests” and being able to roulette those lists is my big hope. Perhaps we can just enter URL to a list?

Missing some options

I found that it would be useful if their was an option for delivery. Additionally your random number generator needs to be fixed. When re-spinning from the beginning I get the same restaurants in order as before. What this tells me about the random number generator is that it is using the same seed over and over. The seed should be randomized so that the spins are different every time the spinner is reset from the start.

I wanted to try and discover one new place to eat, and somehow in a 20 mile radius where there’s at least 200 restaurants it gives me 22 results. None of which are a single place I’ve heard of. Why are the normal chains not popping up in this too? Out of the normal 15-20 places we frequent (Texas Roadhouse, Olive Garden, tucanos, Denny’s, ihop, Buffalo Wild Wings, red Robin) none of them appeared in the search even though they should. I expected to see all of those normal results PLUS new discoveries. Instead you suggested coffee shacks and hole in the walls, with nothing else included. If I wanted to make a list of all the restaurants in the area myself I could do that without this app. I don’t usually leave reviews but just to save you the download, this app is weak af.

Thank you for your review FavaronJ. We use Yelp to search for restaurants and it’s historically given pretty good results. Could you let us know where you were searching so we can take a look at the problem? Just send an email to support@turbolaser.dev. It’s also possible that you had the “open now” switch turned on & did your search outside normal business hours, which is why a lot of the expected restaurants wouldn’t show up. The food category filters may also have filtered out the restaurants - sometimes Yelp can be a little funny that way. Thanks again for the feedback!
