No joy-stick!?

One of the 5 star reviewers indicated he plays the game with a joystick and loves it. Unfortunately,I can’t make the game respond to my new FlightStick Pro. The only options in the settings menu are gamepad, keyboard and mouse and none of them empowers the joystick. What am i missing? From what I have seen of the game in a quick tour, it looks as though it it might a very high review. But until I get this issue resolved, I guess I would say I am more disappointed than impressed. For now, I can’t rate the game very highly.
Developer Response
Hi! In order to use the joystick just enable Gamepad in the Options menu and bind the buttons in the Mapping menu
Stunning WW II air combat game
edbriggs
I play this game on a MacBook with a joystick. It is a very promising and exciting new game. The WW II planes are great fun to fly and can be customized and decorated to your own preferences. You can fly in many different scenes of operation and the realism is astonishing. Understand that this is a challenging game. You will not master it quickly. In the beginning you should concentrate on the tutorials and campaigns and custom games where you are playing against simulated pilots, not real ones online. The real ones online will shoot you down and discourage you unless you have gained some skill. After that you play against real online opponents from all over the world and can join up with different organized teams. It is also fun just to fly around and explore the great scenery without fighting anyone. This will also get you used to the aircraft controls. This is one of the custom games titled “Free Roam.” There are many different types of games, both those with live opponents and those with simulated ones. Games against the simulated opponents also allow you to start at an “easy” level and work your way up to the “hard” level. The game is amazingly inexpensive - just 5 bucks. The only in-app purchases are for adding additional aircraft and the most you can ever spend on that is $10. There is no charge for time spent playing the game. Highly recommended and little invested to try it out.
More of a challenge than Version 1
WolfiesUke
Having played version 1 for many years, it was a disappointment when the latest update no longer recognized the use of a joystick. I guess after so many years of no upgrades, Version 2 was the solution. I'm running this on an old 2013 Mac Pro tower and a 2019 MacBook Pro and Logitech Extreme 3D Pro set at high sensitvity with no hiccups with joystick or app crashing. Handling characteristics are the same except for braking which will cause a stall if you hang on too long, so get use to throttling at very low speeds. Aerial tactics by the enemy are very different than the original. Very evasive and unpredictable when game is set to Hard level. Try chasing down a plane for a few minutes without firing and you will see what I mean. Your plane is a much more vulnurable in this version. Going head on with an enemy plane is near suicide now. So aerial tactics need to be developed. Taking on 2 planes in Survival mode is a real challenge now. The campaign conflicts are similar to Version 1. The clarity and lighting of the graphics are much better on this version and each scenario are much more spread out. I have yet to run into an out of bounds warning. Volume levels on this app are pretty high so before going into battle start at 15% or less so you dont blow your eardums. BTW, if there was a way to seperate the triggering of 2 weapons (as in Version 1) instead of both firing at the same time, that would be awesome. All in all, this is much more challenging than Version 1. In Version 1 getting to level 19 in Survival mode was easy. I'm still trying to work my way past level 7 Survival mode on Version 2. It's no longer a game where you jump in a plane and start shooting everything in sight with no worries of how you do it. You really have to think about tactics so you dont get blown out of the air.
Awesome WWII air combat game!

Great game with outstanding graphics on several different maps (e.g mountains, desert, Pearl Harbor, and more) and a great array of accurately featured WWII fighters, bombers and jets. The flight controls are a perfect balance between realistic simulation and arcade, so it doesn't take a newbie long to fly a plane well. The game offers several good offline camapigns that can be played in easy, medium or hard settings and single player games in which you are pittetd against bots. The best, however, is the online multiplayer arena, in which you will play against pilots from all over the world. I highly recommend even experienced gamer pilots to master the offline campaigns on hard setting before entering the online world if you want to stand a chance against the experienced players and top online flying aces you will encounter there. Whether offline or online, this game is addictive and in my opinion the best combat flying game availble in the MacOS and iOS worlds.
