CatholicMatch -- Faith Focused Dating for Catholics
You want to marry someone who shares your faith. But you’re not finding anyone.
That’s where we come in.
Helping single Catholics meet is the reason we exist.
Over 1.5 million people have signed up for CatholicMatch, and they’re looking for sacramental marriage. Thanks to our focus on community and faith resources, not only do our members meet other singles for faith-focused dating, but most come away from CatholicMatch with lifelong benefits: an increased knowledge of their faith and new Catholic friends for years to come.
Technology keeps giving us new ways to connect, and CatholicMatch has been at the forefront of this expansion for the past twenty years. While we’ll never know the exact number, based on what we do know, thousands and likely tens of thousands of sacramental marriages have started on CatholicMatch
Experience Matters
There are many dating apps out there, and while they may share common features, too many times the experiences are wildly different. We want your dating experience on CatholicMatch to be dependable and useful. So, we place a priority on dating with the goal of sacramental marriage, not just dating to date. Additionally, we try to provide an experience that not only encourages purposeful dating, but also promotes values like respect, charity and compassion.
In addition, our customer service team is dedicated to accompanying our members in every way possible. They not only provide answers to questions and concerns in a timely manner, they also review all photos and profiles uploaded on the site. Plus, they complement our automated security by manually reviewing questionable accounts and behaviors. Although there is no perfect system, providing a safe and enjoyable experience is one of our top customer service priorities.

This review is only about the app—not the site. I deleted the app after only two days. In order to see who “viewed” my profile, it was unusable. I would receive an email indicating someone had viewed my profile, click on it end it would take me directly to a list of those who viewed my profile. After downloading the app it would go directly to the app and whatever page was last opened, and if the app was closed, it would take me to the home page which only showed me the newly joined, with the option to view all. While the help feature said go to the homepage and scroll to “views”, there was absolutely no such option on the app homepage. There is also no way to view those whom I had “liked” on the app, while on the website it was quite easy by clicking on “Messages, I would then see a feature showing me the option to view those whom I had previously liked. On neither site was I able to unlike someone I had already “liked❤️” which was unfortunate because I liked someone by mistake & broke the poor man’s heart.
It takes prayer and time, but I met my fiancée

Let’s be real, this is a tough time in history to seek human connection of any kind, let alone find a life companion. Dating is a pain on any website, and this one is no different — women can get contacted by men they don’t like, men can send out dozens of messages to no response, and both can get ghosted even after an apparently good date. (My advice, ignore the cold feet and go on date #2 if there were no real red flags.) But at least on CatholicMatch and other Catholic sites you greatly increase your odds of finding someone with the same faith, values and expectations. (The “do you believe these teachings” prompts were especially helpful for weeding out non-starters.) I found the app very usable and the self-description prompts fitting, if a little trivial (though how deep do you want to get in your first introduction?). Also, you’re going to have to bite the bullet and pay for a usable membership, especially if you’re a man, since we customarily send the first message. Personally I think it’s really stupid to complain that you can’t use all the features for free, when real people are working on the app and you’re trying to find your spouse for life on their platform.Ultimately, though, it’s not going to work if you don’t pray to find your spouse, and possibly do penance if things are looking really bleak. My fiancée and I met shortly after we prayed to St. Joseph around the same time in Lent; I suggest you ask him, St. Raphael, or another patron saint of marriage to make your search successful. May the Lord bless your going out, and your coming in.
Worst Dating App
Miguel Laporte
I’ve been on multiple dating apps to include Hinge, Bumble, eharmony, Christian Mingle and Catholic Match. It hurts to say, but Catholic Match is one of the worst I’ve ever been on. I paid for the premium, and it was not user friendly. It had a confusing front page with random photos of people and no rhyme nor reason to it. The search feature would not give you all the people from a particular area. For example, searching through LA, I would get a specific number of women within my search. However, I would link up with some one who would fit what I’d been looking for and she never appeared in my searches. I just happened to be lucky enough that she found me. Also, the potential match search engine is incredibly flawed. Where as other dating apps, like Hinge, learn over time what your preferences are and adapt to sending you more of them, Catholic Match sends you “potential matches” that don’t fit what you’ve been searching for and are loosely based off of your personality test you take when creating your profile. I also am not a fan of the massive cost for a dating app that other fellow Catholics have been avoiding as well for these reasons. A lot of people are on there who would like to chat but have to pay to unlock the ability to see who likes them or begin conversing. Let’s be honest, most people are not going to wait two weeks to unlock the ability and are going to move on. And most aren’t going to pay $30 a month for a dating app with these flaws. I’d like a Catholic dating app that is free to use for its most basic functions, user friendly, and well connected.
Do not spend your money on this

This is by far the worst attempt at a matchmaking app. The site has actively removed useful features like being able to see how recently someone was active. As a result, you could be writing a message to someone who has not been online in years. They also do not even require a Mutual like for sending messages. This means that if you’re a man, you just have to read every account and write bespike messages to someone who 1) May not even have been online in years and could be married by now and 2) someone who’s entirely uninterested in hearing from you This is internet dating. You can’t read body language and gauge how open someone is to you so the Mutual like is such a basic feature that would save men from wasting time and women from being messaged by literally everybody but Catholic Match does not care to be convenient or user friendly. There’s tons of fake accounts as well so have fun trying to figure out who’s real and who’s fake. You’d be better off literally driving to different churches around the country than spending a penny on this horrible garbageEdit: they just responded with a bunch of excuses and massaged language. Absolute trash app. I hope they go out of business.
Developer Response
I'm sorry you felt the site was a waste. We have had thousands of couples connect and eventually marry because of our site, however it can definitely take time. We do remove all members from the site after a certain period of complete inactivity. We definitely don't want inactive profiles, and always quickly take down anyone if we find out they're no longer single. Our security system is constantly scanning for signs of fraudulent activity on accounts, and we have member reporting features so we can quickly remove scammers. We wish you the best in your search, no matter which app you use.
We made improvements and squashed bugs so Catholicmatch is even better for you!
