The app functions great. When it wants to. I use the biometric ID instead of the secure ID token. At least twice a day, it has either a network error or times out. Several times it has not recognized my face. Which is interesting as I use Face ID to open my phone each time, so I’m guessing my face hasn’t changed. Definitely has some kinks to be worked out.
NO APPS FOR CUSTOMERS WITH A US PHONE

This is the only mainstream bank that does not have this app. I am a global traveler and need it. BMO needs to move to the new century. Even my credit unions have it. Most banks allow you to transfer $ between US and Canadian accounts. The new verification that must be performed EVERY time you sign on must be processed on a lap top. Really???? It won’t work with my US phone number as a text message. System is very antiquated and I am a 70+ year old. So if that is old to me, you will be losing younger customers fast! Need to get with the times.

I definitely feel safe using the app, but I like to access my business account from a desktop and occasionally from a phone, but I am constantly getting locked out and having to call in to reset my credentials; it has gotten slightly better over the last few weeks though

I hope the bad reviews can pile up enough so that BMO does something to correct this. Constant issues for Face ID and verbal. Need a basic token system like other banks… this is enough to make our company want to switch banks.

• Simplified biometric setup – If you have only one Customer ID and User ID, you no longer need to create a nickname to sign in using Face ID and Touch ID.
• Easier OTP code entry – Now when you receive an OTP code from BMO by text message, the code will appear as a suggestion at the top of your keyboard. Just tap the suggested code to instantly complete your authentication.
• New greeting screen – After you sign in, you’ll now see a brief, personalized greeting screen.
• Minor fixes and improvements.
