“Biotracks”在不同领域中的用途各有不同。它最大的用处在于随时记录物种照片和自然景观，并生成专属的个人自然观察地图，通过记录GPS轨迹，帮助科考队员极速记录野外标本采集信息，以及植物标本生长地所处的经纬度、海拔、行政区划等，改变了以往用纸和笔记录的方式，大量节省后期整理信息资料的时间。
同时，Biotracks可与网页端无缝对接，管理和关联相机、GPS仪、采集、数字标本等数据。Biotracks还可通过搜索物种照片来感知周边环境信息，并实现共享；同时相关采集信息均可设置为私密，确保数据安全。
而对于生物爱好者而言，如果在野外发现不确定的物种，只需把数据同步上传进行比对，便可便捷地确定物种，大幅度减少出错几率。
【温馨提示】
轨迹记录功能会持续使用GPS定位，切换至后台时，仍会保持GPS连接，相比其他操作会消耗更多的电量。
