Word Rails is a head-to-head word game where you and your opponent play the very same board of letters. Any tile is fair game, so it all comes down to who finds the better words.
Spell a word from any letters on the board and the train cars roll forward, pulling fresh tiles in behind them. Every tile you clear moves your train down the line. Pull into the station and the match is done. There is no turn timer and no waiting on anyone's move. Blitz a board in two minutes, or sit with it until you find the seven-letter word you know is in there.
ON THE BOARD
• Use any letters, in any order. No paths to trace.
• Long words and rare words pay more. OCTAGON beats CAT, and JETPACK beats them both.
• Letter and word multipliers, wildcards and golden tiles reward a plan.
• Lightning cars strike a whole row and score it for you. Bomb cars blast their neighbors.
• Equip up to three boosts before you leave the platform.
• Stuck on a row? Tap the caboose to bank the letters you have left.
THREE WAYS TO RIDE, AND MORE TO COME
• Matchup: the classic. Sixty tiles, one opponent, best score wins.
• Golden Freight: unscramble the secret word hidden in the golden tiles for a massive bonus.
• Bullet Train: a short board built for speed, with a bonus if you finish in under a minute.
EVERY MATCH GETS A GRADE
Win or lose, the Inspection Ticket stamps your run with a grade, all the way up to the coveted golden S. You are graded against the board you actually played, so a tough deal never counts against you. Credits call out what you did well: LONG HAUL for a word of seven letters or more, ALL ABOARD for a clean finish, PRECIOUS CARGO for a truly rare find. Better grades pay more XP.
A REASON TO PLAY THIS WEEK
• Leagues: join a league of 30 Riders every week. Finish near the top and you are promoted, from Bronze all the way to Diamond.
• Rail Rally: a week-long race across a rail map. Good matches earn Cars, Cars lay track, and the first Rider to claim a route flies their colors on it.
• Station Skirmish: two crews, one week, one rope. One week it is the Leaping Llamas against the Rollicking Ravens, the next it is someone new. Every match you finish pulls your side ahead, and everybody who hauls gets paid.
• Seasonal Lines: limited-time lines roll through with the calendar, like The Pumpkin Pike each October.
SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY
Play the Word of the Day for a score multiplier. Take on daily challenges, keep your streak alive, and collect Daily Rewards. The week has its own rhythm too: Multiplier Monday, Wildcard Wednesday, a rare boost on the shelf for Thursday Thrift, and a spin of the prize wheel on Fortune Friday.
And keep an eye on the trestle. Timothy the Trestle Troll sometimes stows away on a tile. Use his tile in a word and he pays you a toll. Ignore him and he eats it.
RIDE WITH FRIENDS
Add friends and send a challenge, and you will both play the identical board. Results, challenges and rewards all arrive at the Depot, your mailbox on the line. Tap any Rider's avatar to see their card, add them, or send a challenge.
MAKE IT YOURS
Earn trunks as you level up and compete, from humble Canvas to the prestigious Presidential. Inside: coins, boosts, and more than a hundred avatars, frames and nameplates, plus stamps that show where you have been.

Friend invites also got an update: Invite a friend with a link that makes the friendship on the tap and you can now see active Challenges right in the main menu.
