Engelen/Angels is a site specific app, developed to recreate a sound installation artwork by Moniek Toebosch (1948-2012). In its original form Engelen/Angels was a local FM-radio broadcast between 1994 and 2000 in The Netherlands, audible only on the Houtribdijk, a dike between the IJsselmeer and the Markermeer connecting Enkhuizen and Lelystad. This app recreates that experience, using the original files and algorithms combined with geo-fencing technology to make sure the Angels can only sound at that specific location. With water on both sides this location-bound app may get you into heavenly atmospheres.
If the app is activated outside of the specified area it will give you information about the artwork, and your current distance to it, but it will not sound.
