A countdown ring you can just grab
Click the menu bar icon and a live ring shows the time remaining. Drag the ring to dial in any duration, or tap a preset — 10 minutes to 8 hours, a custom time, or ∞ to stay awake until you stop. Tap the centre to let your Mac sleep again.
Keep working with the lid closed
Choose sleep-prevention only, or keep your Mac awake with the lid shut for downloads and remote work. Insomniacs shows a one-time ventilation reminder — keep your Mac cool.
Automate it — Shortcuts, Siri & Spotlight
Insomniacs adds native actions to the Shortcuts app — Keep Awake, Keep Awake Indefinitely, and Turn Off — so you can build automations, ask Siri ("Keep Insomniacs awake"), or trigger it from Spotlight.

Great, but doesn't keep settings

If you set disable sleeping forever, it keeps it forever, unless you turn off or restart your computer. Then you have to set the setting again. I have found no button or setting that can keep it switched on permanently. This is frustrating as you have to remember to turn it on every single time you turn your computer on again for the day.

Almost 5 stars. But if I leave my computer in Sleep, I need to open the lid and then close it to have the screen switch from my computer to the large monitor. Else, it works perfectly and I highly recommend it!
Works but not perfect for docking

Works well once running and enabled. However it has issues when waking up from sleep when connected to a dock. I must enable Insomniac, then connect to the dock, then close the lid for the Mac to not sleep with the lid closed. If I connect the dock with the lid closed, then wake up the Mac, Insomniac won't be enabled and the Mac will automatically go back to sleep.

This app works as advertised! I was becoming more and more frustrated with not being able to hook up my Mac Book Pro that I recently bought (it's the 2018 version) and I researched how to activate clamshell mode on the device on the Internet, but nothing worked. I decided to give this app a try for 99 cents and thankfully, it works perfectly. Thanks, Shawn Hirst!
