I love the Game

But obv isn’t for everyone. Some people want to play 9 or 18 holes & this game doesn’t offer it. Outside of the tournaments anyways that do offer 9 holes when you build up enough gold. But I’ve seen other golf apps that are 1 hole H2H matchups and there’s a lot of peeps who enjoy that setup. So it’s clearly impossible to please everyone. I’ve only had 1 issue with game & that came in the most recent update where I lost all my progress. Even tho I had been saving & backing up as I played. I thought I was alone but saw it came after the update & a lot of people had it happen to them. Same thing seems to have happened a couple yrs ago with players progress being wiped. I sent an email to support & was sent a link within a relatively short amount of time, and was able to recover my data. With online, things can happen. So long as it wasn’t permanent lost of data, I’m not going to cry about it. Had I lost everything, I was bordering on being furious at the thought. But it was fixed and so I’m happy. It’s really hard these days to please everyone but there is a community of people who love this game. I log-on and play about a half hour a day-when I can-and I enjoy what I get outta it. Nobody is forcing anybody to play & love the game. Try it out for yourself and see how it is. Cuz honestly, it seems to be a game that so many love, but clearly others do not. So I would def recommend trying it out if you love golf, and see for self how you like it. It’s an arcade style game more than going for authentic. But it’s def fun & good time killer

If you are someone who is looking for a golf game to play for 10 minutes a week then this is a good choice.However, the logic of the design is deeply flawed. The object is to level up so you can obtain new clubs, courses and so on. In the beginning it is fine. You level up by getting coins that are obtained through opening card packs which are won in solo challenges, Dailey challenges and heads up play. In order to level up your golfer, you must level up your clubs. The developer says each level should take 3x’s as long as the previous to advance. Here is where the problem starts.There are only so many clubs available to level up. You receive about 70 points for leveling up a club when it cost 1000 coins. The next level is 4,000 then 10,000 and then 25,000. Logic would follow you should receive 1750 in points for spending 25,000 coins. Nope you get 200 points. So it took no more than a week to move a level in levels 1-5. However, I have been on level 6 since March. I have never missed a daily challenge, always finish 1-3 in my clubhouse (rankings from heads up play), and have completed ever solo task except two which I do not have the correct club to do because I can’t reach level 7. I am only about half way through level 6. I feel like I have invested a bunch of time and can’t move any further. Hopefully they update the app and improve on this silliness. If they do I will change the review.

The latest update was ingenious. Added features that looked like value but the way they work is to try to get you to “level up”. To do that you need to clear more card packs out of your stack, so you need to spend gold. At some point, often times just a win or two after you level up, your challengers start making eagles on 450 yard holes, or they make 60 foot puts, or they make every 35 yard chip. So you lose points, bringing you down to the previous level. And if you don’t spend gold to clear card stack, the opponents stay amazing until you do spend gold. Then, for some crazy reason, all of a sudden you will get an “amazing” card package that takes a day to unlock unless you want so burn elven more gold. But wait, it gets better. When it’s time for you to lose, It’s not just that your opponents could compete with and beat any pro on the masters tour. Their equipment can do stuff that it’s not supposed to do while the physics on your equipment are handicapped. The pointer literally jumps over the middle marker meaning there is no way you can make a shot. The graphics all of a sudden get very choppy, but just for your wedge shot or your putt. And the putt that was hit hard enough to go over the back edge of the hole magically hangs over the leading edge of the hole refusing to go into the hole - defying gravity. It’s one thing to make a game challenging. It’s another thing to use this type of psychology to continually get people to spend more and more money. And, this is expensive. Very expensive. So consider that when you are downloading the game.

Fun Golf App with Some Serious Problems

This is a really fun golf app, but it has a few serious problems. The ball physics are absolutely horrible. A shot with the driver that lands in the fairway or on the green bounces like a bouncy ball. It will legitimately clear the height of the flag by 20-30’. It just makes no sense and feels like the ball is landing on pavement. Additionally, the power of the clubs is extremely inconsistent — the drop off from driver to wood to hybrid to iron is IMMENSE. You get drivers early on that allow you to easily hit a 220+ yard drive, but then the woods might get you 130. On a 180 yard par 3, you’re either half hitting your driver OR you have to put a weaker driver in the bag, and then you’re still dealing with the ridiculous bounce. Then if you land in rough, even short rough, unless you have a club with an attribute for rough, you can’t do much more than dink one back into the fairway. Obviously rough should make it harder to hit the way you want, but this game takes it to the extreme. This is all made even worse by the fact that I almost never pull iron cards from packs, so my iron cards never get upgraded. I just wonder if the developers have ever watched/played golf and if they have any clue what a golf ball does when it hits the ground.All that being said… it’s a pretty addictive game with a lot of fun challenges. I like the big variety of clubs (despite the clubs’ shortcomings I mentioned before). I’m having fun with it, but it could be such a great golf app if the ball and clubs worked a little more realistically. Also, an option to simply play 9 or 18 holes would be nice.
