pretty cool so far
i was trying to find an ez CPU temp sensor to see if my system might be getting thermal throttled. intel CPU. i recall this one module from intel but it required some sort of kernel mod, what? well this app doesnt have the temp sensor app directly in the download from the app store, you have to download another package [free] from their web site (some link is within the app) to get that data. that package seems to be signed properly. at least it pops up an indication that it is. well now i can get temperatures not only for the CPU by indiv core, but other regions of the hardware like battery, memory, etc. interesting. how accurate is it? i don't know. some of the stuff in this app i dont really care about at the moment. but maybe it will be useful later. the graphic design of the app is nice. one thing strange, it shows 2 fans running > 2000 rpm, but i dont hear any fans at all. is that correct? are the fans silent at 2k RPM? don't know.
Great insights & features. Totally worth the price.
A first rate system monitoring app for everybody! Gives casual users a slick customizable dashboard on how your Mac is performing. Also great for hard core users and admins who want deep visibility into hardware and process activity, including customizable event triggers and actions to report, troubleshoot and maintain systems locally or remotely. The Dashboard and menu icons can be personalized to focus on what matters most to you. Be sure to install the sensors capability to get the full bang for the buck. Overall it's an elegant app that not only monitors everything and displays it beautifully, but permits custom triggered Notifications, Automator workflows and terminal commands based on detected sensor conditions that macOS itself doesn't even tell you about.
Doesn't report thermals accurately. Great app otherwise!
Just got this app with the main purpose to check on system load and fan rpm while i work. Seems to be great at monitoring those aspects, but the temperature sensors seem to be completely everywhere.
You have to download an extra plugin in order for temperature to be reported. Once I downloaded this I immediately noticed something was off. My mac is cool to the touch, no fans running and nothing save for some Chrome tabs open and yet the monitor is saying some of my cores are exceeding 130F ???? I like being able to check my fans but I've learned to just completely ignore the thermals, as I don't really know how theyre reporting such high numbers when my laptop is completely cold.
This could be a software issue with M1 silicon possibly? As other reviews with Intel macs report good thermal reports. I'm on an M1 Max though and definitely know something is off.
