MIDI Recorder with E.Piano simply performs record/playback as you input MIDI signals. You can record your performance completely. As a bonus, the app includes FM E.Piano sounds. Also there is an on-screen keyboard, you can make a note of your idea anywhere. All features are available without subscription. - You can toggle kinds of signals to record. - You can select MIDI channels. - By default the app processes signals from/to all connected MIDI ports. - The app makes files of Standard MIDI File Format 0. - iTunes File Sharing and iCloud are supported. - Virtual MIDI is supported. - Supports external MIDI keyboards. MIDI is a standard about controlling audio devices. You can control musical instruments with separately sold MIDI adapter for iPhone/iPad. Simple, accessible midi recorder

This app is almost exactly what I was looking for. I am blind, and use the voiceover screen reader to access my phone. All of the buttons seem to be well labeled and it is simple to operate. I really appreciate the fact that it was free. there are a couple of features that I would pay for. The first one being a metronome. Also, it might be nice to have two tracks and the ability to combine them. Mostly the metronome is what I want though. I appreciate that there aren’t a lot of features though, as it makes it really simple to just click record and play my keyboard. Thanks for making an awesome app.

Nice tool to record midi from digital drum kit

new to midi
I am learning to play drum on a Yamaha D55 drum pad kit. I need to record my music and compare to a professional drummer’s play. I don’t want to just record with an external mic as it picks up all the thumping noise from when the drum sticks hit the drum pads. You know, on a real drum kit, you won’t have the artificial thumping sound. This nice app, along with a midi-in/out to usb cable, allows me to record on my iPhone.One little kink that took me while to figure out: as I am naive to midi, the recorded midi file has to be channeled back to my Yamaha drum kit and the recorded music would come out of the drum kit speakers. The recorded midi music would not come out of my iPhone’s speakers.

Great, simple tool that captures MIDI at a high time resolution

This app concept is very simple and performs one task pretty well. Afaik, it's the only dedicated recorder tool like this for iOS and MacOS, which supports the full 16 channels of MIDI. I have noticed some issues with lost notes and incorrectly placed note-off events. Not sure why this is, but it is a repeatable issue I've encountered. In my application, I am often sending a large amount of multi-channel MIDI data at once, but unsure if this is the reason.However, if you use Ableton Live and need a multi-channel MIDI file that runs close to the actual internal clock of Live, rather than the weak 96ppqn, single-channel export option it provides, this might be the only option, short of recording it into another DAW.If there were a paid version of MIDI Rec, it would be an instant purchase for me with the addition of the following features—-Type 1 MIDI file export -Recording tempo selection-External MIDI clock-sync -Recording triggered by MIDI start message Less critical, but very welcome would be a native MacOS UI version. ;)

I’ve been looking for a MIDI recorder for iOS for a while, but I avoided trying this one because of the low amount of reviews. Eventually I ran out of other options and downloaded this app. I’m surprised - and relieved - to say that it works very well! I’m only using it to record MIDI files on my keyboard, but for that feature alone this app has earned my 5-star rating!

I’m only using it to record MIDI files on my keyboard, but for that feature alone this app has earned my 5-star rating!

Fixed an issue which caused unwanted MIDI messages recorded. Third party MIDI tools might interpret files which have specific messages as broken. If the tools say that, try turning off "OTHER" (Clickable) in the record screen.
