The Youth MHFA App is a learning accompanying mobile app. The app allows the learners to access
online and offline the Youth Mental Health First Aid manual, the details of their training sessions
including date, time and venue, general information about Mental Health First Aid and a number of
related tips.
The Youth Mental Health First Aid provides trainees with updated knowledge, skills and abilities
required to provide the necessary assistance and guidance to support individuals facing mental
health challenges. The courses equip trainees (educators, youth workers, coaches, managers) with
the skills necessary to help such persons lift themselves from the negative situations that they find
themselves in and to seek help.
The course is designed for persons who have frequent contact with young people. It is most
relevant in situations where an adult becomes aware of symptoms that might indicate that a young
person in their classroom or any other network is developing a mental health problem. The course
consists of 14 contact learning hours which are delivered through 4 sessions of 3.5 hours each.
