I’ve had this app for like 3 years now, and my only complaint is the way the skips are counted. It might not seem like a big deal, but it’s really been bothering me recently. I don’t know if it’s always been this way, and I’m sure it hasn’t because I have songs I listen to a ton that have like 0 skips, and I know for a fact I didn’t work my way around this for 3 years. When I decide to listen to another song and I haven’t played the song already for son already for 30 seconds, the song gets counted as a skip. The only way around this is if I play a song for 30 seconds or add songs to my next queue. I’m sure it’s a recent issue because the songs most affected by this are songs I’ve recently added to my library. Keep Driving by Harry Styles has been in my library since it came out, and it’s my 2nd most played song with over 2k plays. That song only has 1 skip. But pretty isn’t pretty by Olivia Rodrigo has around 500 plays and 18 skips, and it just came out last month. I don’t know if it’s possible, but I wish for the app to only count skips if I actually press the skip button and not because I clicked on another song.
It’s good but one thing..

After I downloaded this app I was SOOOO happy to see how many times i’ve listened to, skipped, what date i listened to, any album, song, playlist, whatever. But a few days ago, I was looking at a song i’ve recently been listening to. I watched it hit 100 plays as I was listening to it. The next day in the morningtime, I checked my all time plays and it said 98. I was like “Okay maybe it’s a glitch”, so I just thought nothing of it. This morning I woke up and saw my all time plays was at 367 cause yes, I listen to the song that much, pretty much throughout the entire day. But just now I checked my all time plays and it says 234!! It deducted plays from me 😭 And that’s very annoying cause I wanna show people my plays to show them I listen to the song more than them (lol) but now I basically have nothing to show. How can you guys fix this?
Developer Response
Thanks for the feedback. The data for all-time plays comes straight from Apple Music but I’m sorry to hear that this is happening. It can sometimes jump around a bit if you have multiple devices that you listed on, although I’ve never seen jumps that large before. Hopefully it will resolve itself after a few days.
Great App, Needs Dark Mode Icon

I’ve used, loved, and trusted this app for years now using it as a primary source for counting my streams (my favorite hobby)! i even purchased the premium version of the appalthough the app hasn’t been updated in 4 months, i’m afraid the developers haven’t abandoned it like other tracking apps i’ve used in the past. the app is outdated as it doesn’t have an iOS 18 dark mode icon, which is preventing me from putting on in my home screen!!!also i don’t know how accurate “last ____ days” metrics are, i saw the app developers mentioned the stats come directly from apple music, but my 2024 year end list on apple music replay didn’t match my last 365 days on songstats, which you think they would match exactly, if it’s the same data… just wondering if there’s a reason for that? also i know this is a lot of requests, but i would like there to be like a library of images to chose for the artist photos? it always slightly bothers me when like a remix single cover that’s in my library becomes the photo attached to the artist, or an album from last decade these are just some minor bug fixes that i think would improve the “quality of life” of the app, and make it more enjoyable to use every day!!! unrealistic ask but a facelift to give it a more ios 18 modern overhaul would be astronomical but that’s gotta be so much work haha!! love this app, thank you for making it!!!

Thanks for the feedback and support! The main difference is that Song Stats only counts completed plays, while Apple Music Replay (likely) counts incomplete streams as well. Only information on complete plays is available to developers.
One of my favorite apps

I absolutely love this app. I love that I can track my music and compare with other graphs. I check this as much as I check Instagram or twitter. I love that I was able to pay once for the premium version and have it forever. Major respect to the dev for giving me that option. It has certainly been worth it. I have run into a couple problems. The most important one is that sometimes when looking at the trend for some of the songs it will be negative for some reason. This then effects the graphs of the album and the artist. I am not sure what causes it because I have tried deleting and re-downloading affected songs and it still stays. For example the La La Land soundtrack refuses to be tracked and updated properly. I would love a couple of things to be added: the ability to change the play count on songs. For example when artist’s put out singles I will listen to them maybe 20 or 30 times and then the album comes out and I’ll have to choose between listening to the single or the one on the album. If I switch to the album version it’s going towards the album count but I have to restart at 0. So a song that should have 40 plays might only have 10 or 20. I would like to just be able to edit that number. And a couple other notes:What counts as a “skip?” In the artist’s tab there is an option for album or song. I can’t tell what it’s doing but there’s definitely a difference? The stats are slightly less and sometimes the pictures change for the artists. How does it choose what to display as the picture for the artist and genre. Sometimes seemingly randomly it will change. But I can’t tell why or what logic it uses to choose the album art.Over all it’s a great app and one of my favorites to play and mess around with. It’s satisfying messing around with the graphs.

Thanks for the feedback! It’s awesome that you’re enjoying it! Skips are generally counted when you move to the next song when you’ve played between 2 and 19 seconds of the skipped song. Though this is determined by Apple Music and this may not be the complete criteria for a skip. The Album Artist is the artist that’s credited for the whole album. Each song also has its own artist as well. Sometimes these are different. You’ll see the difference most often with compilations that have “Various Artists” as the Album Artist.Unfortunately play counts cannot be edited at this time. You can delete the data in Song Stats for an individual song, but the “all-time” plays cannot be deleted as they come from Apple Music. It’s unknown what could be causing your issue unless you removed and then re-added the songs in question.Album artwork is random. Thanks again!
• Minor enhancements and bug fixes.
