The Battle for Wesnoth is a turn-based tactical strategy game with a high fantasy theme. Build up a great army, gradually turning raw recruits into hardened veterans. In later games, recall your toughest warriors and form a deadly host whom none can stand against! Choose units from a large pool of specialists, and hand-pick a force with the right strengths to fight well on different terrains against all manner of opposition. One of the only games to make me appreciate all the time people put into games.Looks simple at first but is one of the most complex strategy games I have seen in a long time.Game get frequent updates.No microtransactions.Tons of addons by the community for additional content!Amazing Art!And last of all, amazing stories to pull you into the lore of Wesnoth!You are missing out if you dont at least look atthe game

Found myself growing tired of this game after the first campaign. Great concept, advancing rank units, but the gameplay itself is poor. The one tile, one unit concept combined with the turns per mission causes players to race units out of formation. Then enemy units surround and devour your units, always striking at the ranked units first. It becomes difficult and tedious to protect units (once your unit attacks, its turn meter is used up), so if you actually do anything but move units up a square or 2 at a time, they get attacked from all sides. The rolls are random, and I caught myself saving before each fight. The rolls are so unpredictable, that it can dramatically change each encounter. It became very boring, loading and saving to try to get fair matches. About 2 hours of fun gameplay, then boredom, annoyance and frustration.

1. For people with poor eyesight this can be difficult to play, as the text size is pretty small and increasing it can cause display issues.2. There seems to be a memory leak, as extended sessions cause the computer to freeze (spinning rainbow wheel of death) and eventually crash.
