The Pipeline Awareness Viewer (PAV) is a mobile application designed to increase the effectiveness of public awareness communications. Stakeholders can use PAV to scan target images located on printed material linked to important safety information such as videos, websites, surveys, email, and phone links, all through their smartphone or tablet. Additionally, pipeline operators will be provided documentation regarding the number of iterations for each link.

If this is some sort of scam I’m not quite sure the point they’re making. There’s a place where you’re supposed to be able to download links related to the different caps found on gas pipeline markers. They are listed as PDFs but if you click on them you go to would appear to be arbitrary URLs, one being someplace in Microsoft, another one being the national institutes of health Medline site. Maybe they just screwed up and are pulling from your own cache? I don’t know. I’ll happily update the score and review if this stops behaving oddly.

I downloaded the app and tried to scan the brochure as it instructed and it went to a black screen, then locked up my phone.
