Gifox is a beautifully designed and masterfully crafted app for creating and editing animated GIFs – the great alternative between static images and full-size videos. A fantastic little utility

I wish MacOS gave this to us a little more easily but rather than futzing with a multiple step process and shortcut and configuation this tool, gifox2 is fantastic! It gives me a simple shortcut right next to my familiar control-alt-4 (here it is control-alt-6 on my keyboard) that will start a video recording. the recording is transfomred in to a very small gif and dropped into my folder with ease. I love a little tool within the app that gives me quick access to the videos I recently created. Very well done!

I'm a web developer, who has to share screencasts _all the time_, and I absolutely love Gifox for my workflow. Things I love: I can trim the start and end off of gifs that are too long. I can drag gifs right from the menu bar into a Github PR, comment, or iMessage. Gifox shows mouse clicks and keypresses in the GIF.There are a couple of very minor things I don't love: I don't love the way the toolbar animates in over a GIF item. It's just a bit slow. It takes too long to delete a GIF which is something I do pretty often. I also wish there were more compression options, to get longer GIFs down below the 10MB file size limit on Github. Totally minor issues.I also have to commend the Gifox team for their excellent support. I had some issues with Gifox crashing in an earlier version and they responded very quickly. And since then it's been totally stable for me.Love this app.

This is just the app I've been looking for. A simple app that provides the ability to quickly, easily capture screen video of the entire screen, a dragged area or (most helpful) specific windows in a small file size that can be formatted as MP4 or GIF, if the subject matter is short enough. Gifex does all of that, very well! I just found this app, but so far am VERY glad I did!

Shameful. Company have decided to abuse their existing, loyal users. I paid for the original Gifox but since upgrading to macOS Big Sur, Gifox stopped working and so I was forced to download "Gifox 2". There is no option or way to transfer the existing license over to the new app and the user is forced to pay AGAIN for a new app. This is fraudulent and unethical and leaves a sour taste in the mouth of existing customers. I am about to delete both apps and find an alternative. Developers need to learn to take care of their existing users. UPDATE: You can use QuickTime (FREE) to record the screen as a video file and use Gifski (ALSO FREE) to convert the video to a GIF. No need to pay/use for the shameful Gif Fox ever again.

Just a quick bug fix follow-up to patch a couple of things we missed in the last release. Follow @gifoxapp on X for sneak peeks and progress updates! Fixes: - Occasional glitch with license activation. - Crash when changing the upload folder while editing a sharing integration.
