La nuova app “Che roccia è?” permette di identificare le rocce tramite una serie di semplici domande relative all’aspetto esteriore della roccia.
Il metodo di riconoscimento che si propone non si basa su complesse analisi chimiche e fisiche ma su semplici osservazioni dell'aspetto della superficie della roccia. Pertanto esiste la possibilità di commettere errori nella classificazione. La roccia deve essere pulita e possibilmente di frattura recente, perché gli agenti atmosferici ne alterano l'aspetto.
