It’s ok. The zones for the drum set are off from what I actually have set up, and there’s no way to change it right now. I also thought you could unlock different genres of music to play along to, but I know now that it is actually how the drums sound in the app. In “song mode” the beats you play with the pocket drums are actually a beat early, so you can hear them in time thanks to sound delay, so be careful when switching to real drums again.The developers should have waited for a more polished version before relaxing to public. It has a lot of potential to be good, it’s just not right now

I got the pocket drum 2 max for Christmas and I’m in love with it. I can finally practice drumming just about ANYWHERE without bothering anybody. The app is almost decent but could be a lot better if they added more features. For starters, there is latency but with Bluetooth signals that’s expected with something like this. The sticks are also sensitive to the strikes but it’s air drumming so the only thing it’s hitting is air. They could most definitely and absolutely add a million more songs. I’ve loved drumming to the songs they do have and even though it can be difficult to hit notes right on the dot, I’ve enjoyed it. Although, I can definitely say if they don’t add more songs soon (songs that are enjoyable) then it will get boring in the near future. I could plug the sticks up to a daw but I really love what the app has going on. Another thing that would be nice is if they added a rewind, forward, play and pause buttons to be able to go to certain spots in the songs and practice in those certain areas. I’ve been having to start songs ALL over again just to go over one area again. This app could be so much more and I’m hoping the developers make a huge update to this in the future. This seems like something that could draw a lot of attention if better updates are made. I hope to see this improve so I don’t have to delete it later on.

I got this because my son wants to learn drums but I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on a drum set before he showed continued interest and/or promise. The AeroBand drumsticks meet that need 100 percent. Best yet - they are portable and can be used with headsets. The downside comes in at the app. In the different learning modules the beat you are trying to emulate doesn’t work with the music playing. Because of this, it makes the rhythm of the beats sound terrible. It is counter intuitive to have a drummer learn to set a beat that doesn’t coincide with the background music. I haven’t figured out how to turn off the music to the learning modules but if it isn’t possible, it needs to be in future updates. Yes there is lag from the point of “strike” to the sound but this is Bluetooth technology and should be expected. I knew this going in and didn’t have an issue with it. I really just wanted something I could make a minimum investment in to aid in learning. The App, however, needs serious improvement. There is so much potential here. I would hate to see this guttered before that potential could be reached.

I supported this developer from day one and bought two sets of sticks and foot pads. Things were buggy from the beginning but I stuck with it. Sure, they were eventually firmware updates and some app updates. Right now I’m sitting with a perfectly brand new iPhone 12 at the latest iOS and there’s no sound coming out of the app at all. You can connect the sticks but you’re just playing thin air. As there’s no connection to any other midi sources are such, something that would be very valuable, you’re basically stuck with a quite pricey investment thet does nothing.
