PAYMENT LINKS AND QR CODES
We know there’s always (at least) one person (Dave) in your group of friends who never pays up or always promises to pay you in pints. Well, Dave just about owes you a brewery by now, so stop letting him get away with it! We’ve made it beyond easy for Dave to pay upfront, so he really has no excuse. When you create a money pool, it autogenerates a unique payment link that you can share straight into WhatsApp or text or wherever. All Dave has to do is tap and pay - no app download, no account set up, no banking, no excuse. And if Dave turns up to that gig you paid for apologising that he forgot, your money pool also has a unique QR code - all Dave has to do is scan it and pay you there and then. Sorry, Dave! The game’s up.

After initially downloading the app, it worked perfectly fine. However, after only about a week or two of having the app, me and my friends started encountering problems with making payments into our group pool. Along with this, customer support was very little help, in terms of actually getting the issue resolved or coming up with solutions that would be able to help solve the issue me and my friends were facing. I was given the same basic problem shooting solutions, even after letting support know that the problem was elsewhere. In truth, it felt like they didn’t even have much knowledge on the problem we were facing and couldn’t offer a valid reason or fix at the time. Finally, in my interaction with support, all I asked for was transparency in terms of letting me know if the problem could be fixed or not, so that I could move forward accordingly. Instead all I got was run around answers saying how they would attempt to solve the issue, with little to no helpful details. I understand encountering new problems and would’ve much rather them said they were not sure than giving the illusion the problem would be resolved. Taking all that into account, even though I was looking forward to it, it just wasn’t worth it to continue to use the app anymore.

6% Withdrawal Fee

This is a great concept, but they are advertising falsely. They don’t charge any processing fees up front, but they charge you a 6% fee on anything that you try to withdrawal to your bank. So once you get all that money, then you find that out. I needed to gather $300 from an athletic team for jerseys, but fortunately I read the reviews before anyone else could pay through this app. I would have had to pay a $18 fee just to withdrawal my money! Better off using Venmo, paypal, or anything else.

This app is heavily flawed and unethical. First of all, they try to sneak in a “support collectiv” 5-10% when someone tries to pay into pool! So embarrassing to have to tell people to beware of this. Secondly they charge a 6% processing fee to transfer funds into US bank accounts. In this day and age, with so many free digital payment options, why would anyone agree to these fees! It’s basically stealing. Extremely upsetting and will never use this app again. A very expensive and upsetting lesson.
