Moped's editor is now Moped's own code. Syntax highlighting, line numbering, indentation, and comment handling all moved into a local package with no third-party dependencies, replacing Highlightr and, briefly, STTextView and Neon. NEW • Homegrown syntax highlighting for two dozen languages, offered under 35 names in the picker. New here: JSX, TSX, TOML, XML, and unified diff. Highlighting is incremental, so only the lines you edit are re-colored, and the colors never enter your file or your undo history. • Four new themes — Ocean, Forest, Nebula, and Turbo — alongside Default, Solarized, Xcode-like, and a System theme that follows your appearance. Every theme except Turbo pairs a light and a dark palette and switches with the system. • Custom themes. Write a .mopedtheme JSON file, drop it in the themes folder, and it appears in the picker. Settings ▸ Appearance ▸ Reveal Themes Folder opens that folder, and double-clicking a theme opens it in Moped with JSON highlighting already on. • Line endings are preserved. A Windows (CRLF) or classic Mac (CR) file keeps its convention, including the lines you add, and the status bar shows which one a document uses and lets you change it. • Indentation detection — Moped notices whether a file uses tabs, 2, 4, or 8 spaces and matches it. • Binary-file protection. New Features File change detection — Moped now detects when an open file has been modified externally and updates accordingly. Comment in/out shortcut — Added keyboard shortcut support for toggling comments (CMD-/). Session restore improvements — Open documents now restore their window position, including across multiple displays. Bug Fixes Auto-Open fix — Unrestorable documents are now dropped from saved state instead of breaking the reopen flow.

Smart Tab support, several fixes with file types and sorting. Better support for Chinese characters, and more right to left text. Check Preferences for new options.

Cursor position tracking. Set Moped as macOS default text editor (customizable). Translations updated/added for: de, en, es, fi, fr, he, hi, it, ja, nl, pt, pt-BR, uk. Fix: Default save format auto-matches the active editor language. Choose: Launch with empty editor or file-open dialog. Easier Find / Replace / Replace All.

Lots of fixes and enhancements! Auto-indent on new-lines. Got rid of auto-save, gave control back to the user. Showing ALL fonts, previously only monospaced fonts showed up. Fixed issues with line numbers ruler, adjusted colors with auto Light/Dark support. Fixed search bar overlapping with text area and line numbers ruler. File size checking on Open, small editor likes smaller files.

Line numbers! Currently the color of the numbers matches the selected theme, but in a later release will be fully customizable.

Minor fixes. Support for R language detection.

Fix: Added entitlement to solve some executables being flagged as quarantined. And other housekeeping changes and updates for the platform.

Even smaller app size: 13MB deployed archive for both Apple and Intel chips. This was tested under fresh macOS installs of Big Sur and Monterrey, picking even more file types on top!
