Election Tracker
2026 midterm polls & approval
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Midterms in view: every Senate, House and governor race averaged, presidential approval as a 7-day average, and market prices labelled as the sentiment they are.
Every published US poll, grouped by race and averaged by a method short enough to print. Senate, House, governor and 2028 primary polls; presidential approval as a 7-day average with a one-year chart; prediction-market sentiment labelled as exactly that. No account, no feed, no editorial — and the source named on every screen.
POLLS, GROUPED BY RACE
Senate races, the generic congressional ballot and every polled House district, governor races and the 2028 presidential primaries. Each race is one line — who leads, by how much, how recently polled — that opens to its average, its trend and its polls. Every poll shows its pollster, sample size, population (likely voters, registered voters, adults) and field dates, because a poll without those is just a number, and partisan-sponsored polls are labelled. Order races by most polled, closest, latest or A–Z.
AN AVERAGE THAT SHOWS ITS WORK
Each race gets a 30-day polling average with a plain method: a pollster's same-day versions collapsed to one (the one about the current matchup, then likely voters first), linear recency weighting, and a minimum number of appearances before a candidate is included. A race polled only every few weeks averages its five newest polls instead, with the dates on the card. Races with enough polling over enough time also get a trend line drawn to scale, so a quiet fortnight is as wide as a busy one. The whole method is one tap away, in plain words.
PRESIDENTIAL APPROVAL
Approve, disapprove and the net number as a 7-day average with each pollster counted once — so one pollster's loud week does not move the headline — with a 30-day, 90-day or one-year chart and the individual polls underneath. Drawn from VoteHub, or from the polls The New York Times collects whenever VoteHub falls behind; the screen says which. The other major averages sit beside it, and beside the generic ballot, for comparison.
PIN THE RACES YOU FOLLOW
Star a race and it stays open at the top of its tab. Find any race by state, district or candidate. Share any average as text, with its poll count and dates attached.
NEW SINCE YOUR LAST VISIT
New polls are counted at the top of each list and marked on their race and on the poll itself, so a quick look shows what changed.
PREDICTION MARKET SENTIMENT
Current Polymarket prices for the races people are watching, with 24-hour moves on the leading outcomes and a filter by race type. Market prices are trader sentiment, not forecasts, and the app says so on the screen. Election Tracker does not take wagers, hold funds, or facilitate any transaction.
BUILT TO BE READ QUICKLY
A countdown to election day that becomes links to find your polling place and follow official results on election night. Light and dark themes that follow your device. Every screen labels how fresh its data is, and says plainly when it is older.
WORKS WHEN THE SIGNAL DOESN'T
The last good response for every screen stays on your device, so on a plane or a bad connection you see the most recent numbers you had, clearly marked, instead of a spinner.
ELECTION REMINDERS
Optional local reminders at 30 days, a week and a day out, on election morning, and as polls close. They are scheduled on your device; nothing is sent to a server.
NO ACCOUNT, NO SIGN-UP
There is nothing to log into. No profile, no tracking of what you read, no newsletter.
FREE, WITH A WAY TO TURN THE ADS OFF
Election Tracker is supported by a small banner. A single one-time purchase in Settings removes every ad, forever — it is not a subscription, and nothing in the app is gated behind an ad or a purchase.
WHERE THE NUMBERS COME FROM
Polls from VoteHub; approval and the generic ballot from VoteHub, or from the polls The New York Times collects when VoteHub falls behind; other averages from Wikipedia; market prices from Polymarket. Every screen names its source.
This app is for information only. Polling data comes from third parties, reflects the moment it was taken, and does not predict an outcome.

The last stretch before the midterms: a current generic ballot, election-night links, and a round of fixes.
• The generic ballot is current again. When VoteHub's national feed falls behind, the House tab now uses the polls The New York Times collects, as approval already does, and says which.
• Election night: results links to CNN, Fox News and every state's official election office, and a poll-close reminder that points you to them.
• New markets: the Kansas Senate race, the Ohio and Texas governor races, how many House seats Republicans win, and the House popular-vote margin.
• Party colours for 65 more candidates.
• A tip jar, in Settings › Support the app, for anyone who would like to chip in. Tips are optional and unlock nothing: the numbers stay free for everyone.
• "Updated" times keep counting while you read, and tapping the tab you are on scrolls its list back to the top.
• Notifications off? Turning on reminders now offers a shortcut to Settings.
• Reading from Europe or Asia? Reminders and the election card now follow the US calendar, and no reminder arrives in the middle of your night.
• Easier to read: the approval numbers and long race names hold up at the largest text sizes, small grey text has more contrast, and VoiceOver reads each market card in full.
• Fixes: Apple's payment sheet opens reliably on iPad, cancelling a restore no longer reports that nothing was found, a purchase still on its way says so, no full-screen ad appears while a purchase sheet is open, and malformed polls from the feed are left out.
