I am now in my 3rd month of successfully using the Koala Nap app. I have had a snoring issue for many years and recently had my sinuses opened up by an ENT to aid in my breathing, sleep and subsequently my snoring. Prior to the surgery, I was looking for an app that I could use to show me before and after results to see how my sleep and snoring were impacted. The Koala nap app has been very beneficial to let me understand how many times it detected snoring each evening. It was easy to setup on my iPhone and Apple watch and I was able to witness the drastic improvement through the app history. While my snoring is greatly reduced post surgery, I continue to use the app each evening to get continued improvement. It is easy to see certain behaviors that impact my snoring such as large meals before bed, evening cocktails or poor posture. The haptic nudge that my Apple watch provides helps me reposition and stop further snoring when it does occur. My spouse is very pleased. While the app is easy to use, one recommendation I would like to see is the ability to pause and restart a session. I have accidently closed all of the apps on my phone in the middle of the night by swiping up and you have to start a new session. It would also be nice to see a weekly or monthly summary of the history rather than scrolling through each full session or the ability to download or email the results. I continue to use the app and enjoy those mornings where there is no detected snoring - it's a little win to start the day!.

I have only been using this app for about a week but wow!! It’s eye opening how much I was really snoring because I didn’t believe my husband!! My snoring would sometimes send him to the couch or the guest bedroom but this app has kept him in our bed…finally!!! I sleep with a mouthguard for grinding my teeth but it didn’t curb my snoring one bit. I’ve tried the nose sprays and the dissolvable SnoreStop tablets but this is the only thing that has truly helped!! I am a back sleeper but snore really bad on my back so I was always waking up to make sure I was sleeping on my side or the arm on the side I was laying on would go numb. I was so tired of trying to sleep on one side or the other. I did the trial offer and then immediately paid for a year subscription! Totally worth it!! I now have the freedom to sleep on my back, either side, stomach, etc without worrying about it!! I think I’m more rested in the mornings, as well. I use it with my Apple Watch and it is very easy to use. I just start the app before going to sleep and lock my phone. When it detects snoring, it sends a notification to my watch. The vibration on the watch is slight so I don't wake up but just enough to make you feel something and you roll over or change positions and stop snoring. In the morning, you can see a report that shows how many times you started snoring. Definitely give it a try if you're looking for something to help you stop snoring. Highly recommend!! The only thing I wish is that the instructions were a little more detailed but they are easy to follow!!!

I’m really pretty excited about Koala. It has given me a tool to deal with a life-long health issue. Before I settled on Koala, I used trial periods to experience a few snoring/sleep apnea apps. Koala fit my needs best as a tool to monitor and play back every incident of snoring through out the night. It works with the Apple Watch which will gently tap your wrist when serious snoring is detected. It’s just enough to prompt you to change position. This has happened only three or four times in the last few weeks, so it doesn’t disturb my overall sleep. It’s easy to turn Koala on when you’re ready for sleep and turn it off in the morning. It also showed me that by taping my mouth - enough to keep it from falling open - and propping my back on an incline will virtually eliminate snoring. I still have an appointment coming up with the Sleep Clinic. I’d love to avoid having to use a CPAP machine again. This gives me hope.

Prior to purchasing Koala Nap, I had tried just about every other anti-snore mechanism available including nose strips, a mouth guard, an oxygen meter with finger buzzer, etc. None of the other options worked with any sort of consistency and my wife was fed up and threatened to banish me to the guest room to sleep. However, having recently purchased an Apple Watch for the first time, a world of new options became available to me, including Koala Nap. I read the favorable reviews and decided it was worth a try. I have not been disappointed, and my wife is greatly relieved. Installation and setup are straightforward and simple, taking approximately 5 minutes total. Use of the app is intuitive. And, above all, it works well. I have used it consistently now for several weeks with very favorable results. My wife has taken note of the greatly reduced number of snoring events nightly. Plain and simple, your Apple Watch will work in unison with your iPhone to monitor your noise level while sleeping. In the event of detected snoring, the app will trigger the haptic feedback on the watch to wake you enough to adjust your sleep position. In most cases, you won’t even realize that the haptic feedback has been triggered and will simply roll over and fall back asleep. A nice add-on feature is that it provide metrics the following morning and you can even review individual recordings of detected snore events. This has been a game changer for me and definitely worth the annual cost. Highly recommended.
