Great app overall

I’ve been using this app to pick up work for a few days now. So far it’s been great and very easy to use. I’ve worked 2 shifts and have a 3rd scheduled.

The one glitch I’ve ran into is an issue when trying to clock in for my shift. I got a notification telling me my shifts about to start and that I must clock in. I clicked on the clock in and thought that it had worked. About 10 minutes later I got another notification saying I haven’t signed in yet and my shift had already started! Eventually it let me sign in but it recorded me as being about 10 mins late! This was very similar to what happened to me when I attempted to clock in the night before. As a result it says my average for being on time is only about 50%!

As someone who prides themselves on being punctual it’s pretty frustrating, especially as this rating can affect the shifts the app will offer me in the future!

I’m hoping there is a way that I can have the times changed and be 100% on time, especially since my location is tracked by the app. I took a star off because of this issue, I’ll update this review if/when it gets fixed.

I’d like to see changes

I’ve been using this app for a bit over a year now. It has allowed me a great opportunities to pick up work. I can say within the last for months I’ve only worked with 3 different companies. One out of the three I only worked with them 1 time. The other two job sites have been dozens of times which is great. At times it can be really competitive to try and get work because this app offers very little company’s to work with in a orange/Los Angeles and riverside counties. So I deducted a star from that along with the fact that they are now paying less for the same job have been doing for over a year! Inflation is a real thing so the fact that our pay is being shortened and even been given more work in some instances I’ve found it’s now worth it. I’m taking another star off because of the fact that this app tracks your location 24/7. I’ve I’m not actively on a shift or using the app then my location should not be tracked. So I took another star off for that. I don’t like receiving notifications saying that the WorkWhile app has tracked my location 127 times in the last 2-3 days. Even when I didn’t have a shirt scheduled or was working

More Cons Few Pros

I’ve used the WorkWhile consistently for over a year. Here are a few of my observations:

Cons: •Very sparse selection of well paying gigs. Depending on your location you may see nothing in your area and if you do they may not be cost effective. •Driving gigs are posted and users are not made aware that they may need commercial insurance. Commercial insurance is often expensive and WorkWhile does not offer cheap options for their users that regularly do driving gigs. •0 mileage reimbursement for driving gigs. Some jobs will require you to drive upwards of 200+ miles. The wear and tear on your vehicle coupled with what you will make per gig does not make driving gigs worth it in my opinion. •Laughable and inept customer service. Those that “help” via messages can be short and often in a rush to close out tickets without solving a users problem. Even when you ask a legitimate question and highlight an inaccuracy in TOC or FAQs they shut you down.

Pros •The ability to earn quick cash and the option to cash out instead of waiting for a traditional check •The ability to earn sick time, albeit it takes a while to earn.
