This Translator is a Wonderfull app. It does do most translations that I need (Italian). There are a couple of minor issues. First, it would be good if there was a “speed” control so that the playback speed could be controlled. That would be a nice feature when trying to understand exactly how words and sentences are pronounced. Second, there are regional dialects/words that are not always available. I’m referring to Sicily for the most part. But I like the app and hope that these issues will one day be addressed.

Since this software allows you to comprehend documents, literature, entertainment, manuals that we lost but still have in French, and so many more uses for this tool, I can see that I'm gonna have more control over learning new things. Giving a user control over documents that would be pretty much useless without the ability to read them in languages we understand gives us power beyond anything we could have imagined when I was in 7th grade listening to BIll Clinton announce this new encyclopedia that can be updated instantly. Seriously, the internet is information that can be updated over time, and it can be done without throwing away your outdated encyclopedia. I don't think anyone knew just what was in store for us today. But, the internet is still info or data that gets updated very fast and very frequently. The only issue is that webpages written in languages that we don't understand would require a translator (in this case, I'm talking about a human translator) or a book that translates from the source language to your native language. I've tried translators built in to the webpage I'm visiting with very limited success. But, this attacks the issue from several ways. Reading a complex book, document, or even an easy to understand subtitle from a movie can be difficult enough in our native language. This software has worked flawlessly in my initial use. Once you download and start using it, I'm sure you will have the same epiphany that I just had; There are so many uses and opportunities to try things that no one has even thought it could simplify. Now I can revisit some of the things I've always wanted to read in Anglish. That's Anglish for the Americans without accents who like to make fun of the Americans who do have accents. Let's be honest, looking up one word at a time is so laborious and frustrating. I thought the only way was to learn just about every language on the planet. I'm gonna try to use this while I'm learning a foreign language. It may not teach you the proper way to use sarcasm, irony, or local customs to show respect. Nevertheless, I could see this software helping me to order food and exchange pleasantries. Sorry this was so long. I'm a writer. I write.

I'm using it since about a month for bulk translation of texts, which then I review manually. It's very quick and works very well. As all automatic translators, it doesn't understand exactly the meaning of certain idiomatic expressions that only a human can discover, as expected. I've found a small problem: I usually translate from Spanish to English by copying and pasting onto the floating translator window using Cmd-C &Cmd-V. Sometimes, Cmd-V doesn't work on the source language upper pane (the cursor stays on the lower pane for some reason) and I must right click and use the paste option to actually paste the text to be translated. I guess this is a program bug probably easy to fix by the developers. Besides that, no problems so far. Thanks!

This app is so well done and makes translating text so easy and seamless. You just select any text, hit command C and press C twice and it opens the translation in a popup from the menu bar. No opening google translate in a web browser. And it has OCR so you can translate any text that you can’t highlight. One of my favorite MacOS apps. ❤️
