I have used the Nebraska Med App a lot for scheduling, viewing test results and correspondence. However, I used it for a virtual visit for a sinus infection and I am really pleased with how great it worked. I waited a week for the infection to clear up or to change to a bacterial infection. I just sent a response text to the virtual clinic that my symptoms hadn’t cleared up and ai got an immediate response and a prescription is being filled as I write this review. This is especially nice since my head hurts and I do the want to go wait in a doctor’s office.

This is absolutely the worst doctors office I have had the misfortune of working with. My Doctor, Lauren Richard’s, is completely unprofessional and does not listen during appointments. The last time I had an appointment with Lauren, I waited for 30 mins for her to walk in before I gave up and went to the front desk to ask for her. 5 min after I asked the front desk what the hold up was, Lauren walks through the exam door. Imagine that. So it’s obvious she was messing around for HALF AN HOUR while her patient(me) was waiting for her. That’s unacceptable.On top of that, this broken medical clinic actually REFUSES to renew my medication. On July 2nd, I sent in a prescription renewal. By July 8th, the pharmacy still did not get the script in from the doctor. So I sent a request through this app for a prescription renewal. You know what they did? They REJECTED it because there was already a script request from the pharmacy. So instead of filling the pharmacy request and canceling my request through the app, they canceled BOTH requests. And THEN tried to make me come in for an appointment before getting renewed. I refused to come in and requested my meds again, only THEN did they refill my prescription. That is completely unacceptable and baffling that a medical practice would be so shady. I wouldn’t recommend care from Nebraska medicine if it was FREE. That is how atrocious this excuse for a medical practice is. Save yourself a whole lot of trouble and find a different clinic. Nebraska Medicine needs to be shut down. Oh, and I made sure to put my real name for the review. Lauren, if you’re reading this, you done messed up woman.

I’ve been being treated by a specialist at UNMC who recommended I use this app if I ended up having issues with respiratory infections again since the hospitals in Lincoln have incompetent emergency departments that have a history of misdiagnosing things a first year med student could, so I gave it a shot. Some PA told me that she couldn’t let me see a dr as I needed to be seen in person, even though a doctor who is MUCH her senior that works at the med center TOLD ME to use the app. Really unhappy because I’m still sick and I can’t even get word to my treating doctor through the app DESIGNED to do that. I mean that is what this app advertises itself as a way to treat minor things. Because of my IgG deficiency I get respiratory infections at least once a month. This is minor and what the treating provider said to do. I guess some want-to-be doctor PA gets to overrule the advice of a doctor with decades of experience. It makes me doubt UNMC’s competence overall if they can’t keep their promises their providers make to patients. Honestly I don’t think PAs should be treating patients anyway, I’ve never received but subpar care from them and been misdiagnosed.

Being a Deaf individual, this app offers me access I desire to my medical records and practitioners. I can ask quick questions and get a respond quicker than setting up an appointment!Plus the app allows me to reach a nurse to get a feel of the available appointment times if needed. Also I get to have my most current records with me if I happen to be out of town!While I love the access this app offers me, my experience is not the same for every Deaf, DeafBlind, Deaf Disabled, Late Deafened, and Hard of Hearing person. Each person has different accommodation needs. Never assume what is access is effective for one person is effective for all!
