Great feature: Its impossible to disable the alarm unless you have the computers password which is perfect! Lid close alarm and unplug alarm works very well! Notifications work well too. I love the photo taker through webcam of the thief. Thank you MUCH for this app. This comes in handy for when you need to use the bathroom quickly at a Starbucks or something. WORTH THE PRICE. My one suggestion is that you allow the screen to give a costume message, and/or other alarm sounds and even something saying "this computer is being stolen!" out loud! <— that would be HIGHLY appreciated. Also it could use slightly better design. Functionality is A though!

Does what it says, which is great! Given the lack of Mac App Store alternatives and given the importance of the functionality, I'm happy to pay the price. My only complaint is that the app icons for both platforms could be a little nicer. Still, the menu bar icon is appropriately styled, and that's where you're likely to notice it the most.*When I first used the app and subsequently wrote this review, my experience was that the app icon remained active in the dock and app switcher. That is no longer the case as of my second use — perhaps I ran into a bug? Either way, I've updated this review and the app score to reflect as much.

I feel comfortable leaving my laptop for a trip to the drink counter or restroom at my breakfast restaurant due to this app. Makes working away from home or office much more relaxing.

This update contains bug fixes. v 1.7: Unplug Alarm is now ready for macOS 26, with a refreshed app icon and better protection when using multiple displays. The warning overlay now appears across all connected screens, so your Mac stays covered even when an external display is attached. This update also includes general improvements to keep Unplug Alarm running smoothly. We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your feedback and suggestions.
