Apple Pay doesn’t work, impossible to add money without cash
I didn’t understand why there were so many bad reviews for this app.
Before I came to Japan, I added money okay with my American Express after my visa failed and I didn’t think much of it.
Now my visa and Amex are failing via apple pay and I have no way to refill my card, and luckily have friends and family here that can help me. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be unable to use the train system.
If this is fixed, I would be happy to update my review to 5 stars because pasmo is so convenient, but until then I would highly recommend not getting pasmo to anyone traveling here without a Japanese credit card.
For foreigners!!!
This app works. If you cannot understand Japanese then don’t even use it, or seek for help. And if you’re gonna complain on the review page then don’t even come to Japan. People like you aren’t welcome. This app is so convenient that it allows you to recharge your pasmo travel card without even going to the kiosk machine. Very handy Japanese technology. Wish they would allow Apple wallet scan at the stations/bus to make it easier
Works Great
It’s a Japanese app, in Japanese. If you don’t live in Japan, don’t bother trying to register your PASMO, just set up an anonymous one. Adding funds will be a charge from Japan, so again if you don’t live there, use a payment card that works outside your home country and notify your bank if you need to. Have fun and enjoy the trains.
