I got an email about this and at the 99¢ intro price, it’s a no-brainer. I’ve had PolyNome for a long time. It’s an incredibly powerful and flexible programmable metronome app but this makes for a really complex interface and I’ve never really gotten around to using it for songwriting as I planned. Based on an hour of playing with Hey Metronome, I can see that it will be great for songwriting. It’s really easy to set different time signatures and to experiment with different note groupings and instantly hear the effects with different tempos, whether by voice control or with simple screen controls. This can be quite helpful in getting out of a songwriting rut. It’s obviously also a great practice tool but whenever I try to practice, I always end up starting a new song. Not that this is a bad problem to have.
Great concepts, some bugs

Let me start by saying all the stuff I like about this app.1. User Interface - sleek and modern2. Ableton Link - this is a game changer3. Banks of preset songs 4. Ability to create set lists5. Voice commands - super unique and essentialHowever, I am facing some issues with it and I am not sure if these are bugs that I am facing or somethings that have been deliberately left out.1. Screen Locking while metronome is playing - If I am playing visually by referring to the pulse or the beat labels, the screen shut down renders the app quite useless. I think it should allow the screen to stay on while the app is running. 2. While waking the app back from background or after a screen unlock, the sound stops. The metronome stops every time it is resumed (this is of course with the 'Play in Background' setting on. So pair that with the previous issue, not only the screen goes dark while playing, the playing stops when I try to get back into the app. Quite detrimental. 3. All the voice commands have equivalent touch gestures except for mute and unmute. Please help me locate it if it's there somewhere. 4. This may be a bug? When the screen locks out while playing, the sound of the beat becomes dull for a bar or two and keeps happening every few bars. Like it becomes extremely lo-fi and comes back up. As you can see, I have done some thorough testing because I appreciate the app for what it is. But I will only continue to use it if these issues are addressed in some form or the other. Thanks!
Love the app, but on IOS 18…

Update (Dec.6) : silly me. Uninstalled, reinstalled fixed it. Still the best in the biz. Thanks Audiokit. This is my go to metronome. I use it with piano practice, but when I go to open the app after IOS 18, it opens then closes right away. Now I’m using the Ableton Note built in metronome as a back up. Please fix! (I’ll write to Apple too after I finish trying ALL my Auv3 and audio apps). Thanks for any support.
Voice recognition but no counting off?

Is there not a way to say Hey Metronome, 1 and 2 and 3 and 4?(And then have the app reply back “ok, ive set the tempo to 128.5 bpm, would you like me to count off and begin?”)The way this works, kinda like google home/alexa, which is neat, if I already know the tempo, but if I want to tap a tempo I still have to tap with my finger. I never know the tempo, its in my head, I dont read sheet music or know anything about classical music tempo names, but I would love to not have to tap ever again. I thought thats what this app would do... maybe in a future update you guys can provide that?
THANKS EVERYONE! You're amazing!
• Initial user image is now being saved at first - thanks to several friendly users who sent us an email
• Backgrounding the app not only stops the audio but frees up the microphone - thanks to App Store Reviewer "Keeloid"
• Saying "Hey Metronome, slow down" or "speed up" will change the tempo by a default value of 5 bpm - Audiobus Forum member "audiobussy" suggestion
• We've got many improvements planned. We appreciate all your wonderful suggestions and kind words! :)
