Our users told us that one of the biggest pains when shopping is unplanned spending once you are in the store. We built shopping lists to help you fix that. Plan your shop before you leave the house, tick off items as you go and track your basket so you know what it will all cost before you get to the till. Then scan your loyalty card at checkout and earn your rewards points. All in a way that keeps true to our Simple By Design approach. We also added the following: * Fixed a number of bugs * Easy way to provide us feedback * Card layout update so you can see more cards * Improved region selector so you can choose more brands from countries around the world * And we threw in a few surprises

People asked, and we listened. It's about time Tribe became available in other countries. There was a brief moment of chaos when the coffee was replaced with decaf (can you imagine!?) but this has been fixed. A new update proving we actually do work between coffee breaks. • Offline Mode: Tribe works so you can access your cards even when your signal doesn’t. Data ran out? Network gone? We got you. • Offers that actually go somewhere: You can now tap through to view deals properly. Look at us, being all useful. • UX upgrades: We smoothed out some bumps, rearranged a few things, and made the whole app improve for local relevance. We also listened to you on what you missed from Stocard now that it's gone. • Birthday vibes: For new users signing up, drop your birthdate in onboarding, we want to celebrate you! • In-app guidance: A smarter way for Tribe to help you get more out of the app • Leaner data requirements: We improved the app so that it requires less data. • Bug removal ceremony: We gently(and not so gently) asked some bugs to leave. With automatic updates, I wonder how many people actually get to see what's new in the app. It seems a pity that it just gets overlooked after all the hard work that went into it. But for those few who take it as seriously as we do, I will endeavour to write the greatest prose of an app update as possible... or at least more than just saying bug fixes. Those happened too, but there was a lot more. Anyway, in case you missed the last update, Tribe is back! Just like load shedding when everyone refused to mention it in case they jinxed it—but unlike that, us being back is actually good, not like load shedding. In fact, forget I said anything about loadsh*dding. So now we are Stage 3 of the app. (Sorry, couldn't help myself.) What's New? We added something very cool: Brand Stories. Think of it as your favourite shopping app meets Instagram. It's a way for you to see some of the cool things the brands you love are doing—all in one place. Because, honestly, who really uses Instagram and TikTok to check the latest specials at Pick n Pay? (They go there for the Rick Ross beats, obviously... no?) You can also filter this to just your brands. Why did we add this? Well, just like how you started noticing your favourite Eskom-se * app sending you notifications about your area (Seriously no shade, Dan. I get it!), we also need to keep the product adapting to our users' needs. More New Features You can now add multiple cards for the same brand. I respect all of you who were creating custom cards for each person—now you can tell the youth how hard you had it before this update. Better barcode support. Whether it's a QR code (like Starbucks) or a Barcode 128 (that's what the cool kids call it) like your Clicks Club Card, it will be automatically detected in image uploads (so grab those Stocard screenshots before your cards vanish!) or camera scanning. A new splash screen! It’s not much, but one-too-many coffees were had, and that's what usually happens—more coding. A bunch of other little things were also improved, most of which make the app more efficient in being your best shopping companion. While we continue to add features to improve your experience, if you see value in the app, we would LOOOOOOVE it if you could spread the word and share the app with people you know (or don't—wouldn't hurt to make more friends) so that we can grow.
