Suntime works in landscape and portrait mode on iPad. Use your current location, or select one manually. The app is lightweight and works offline: all astronomical calculations are done on your device. It uses Background App Refresh to schedule alarms.
“Wonderful visualization of Solar + Lunar cycles in a very intuitive format. Animations are superb”
There’s more to explore inside: including a glossary and tooltips with contextual information like the position, angle, illumination, and magnitude of the Moon, the visibility of eclipses, and the length of twilight.

This app completely hits the mark of what I was looking for (sunset, true solar noon…) without feeling bogged down with more than I wanted. Visually, it’s simple and lovely, and I like being able to explore future moon phases and the sunrise/sunset changing. In the world of commercial chaos, I’m also trying to support the Good from independent developers/makers so I finally bought the full version just as thanks. If you enjoy it, it is worth so much more than the $3 they ask! (Important note: I never felt that the “basic” app was missing anything and there were never ads.) What it includes is so subtle and appreciated that it’s the only app beyond texts that I allow notifications for.
A beautiful App

Update; This is not a one time purchase. I am not seeing a receipt or subscription to cancel. Being charged multiple times. Be aware! Old post! Very easy to use and hard to put down. I found this app by chance while looking for an Almanac. A nice surprise in design and usefulness. I love the in-app search and notification features. The tutorial says if you click around in the app, you will find so many useful features and I agree. I don’t usually review apps unless they are extraordinary and this one is. Five stars well deserved!
Really cool app

Got an invite for the beta, so I’ve been using the app for a couple of months now. The app has a really cool, intuitive visualization for sun and moon phase, which is a lot of fun to play around with. (Zoom all the way in and out, it’s pretty neat!) My favorite thing right about the app is the customizable chimes to alert when certain astronomical events occur. It’s actually really great to get an alarm when the moon is at its peak so I can take a break, go outside, and enjoy the view.
Developer Response
Thank you shrikehunter. Really appreciate the kind words, and we're so glad you like it!
It’s great (for me)

If you want something to keep track of the planets or remind you of the lunar moon sum like that get this app its cool in my experience. I like when I can go out look in my telescope and see saturns rings well you can keep track of where all the planets are you can also use it as a fidget on your devise. I think if you like keeping track of the planets time and sunrise/sunset get this app!
