Math Gates: Number Puzzle
Build circuits, bend the path
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
140 circuit puzzles across 7 worlds. Place gates and mirrors, press Run, and watch your machine work. Solve it with the fewest gates for three stars.
Math Gates is a puzzle game where you build the machine instead of solving a worksheet.
A bit carrying a number leaves the source and travels in a straight line. You place gates and mirrors on the board, then press Run. Gates change the number. Mirrors bend the path 90 degrees. The port at the end only accepts the value it asks for.
Because the bit travels straight, the order it meets the gates is decided by where you put them. Want to add before you double? Then bend the path with a mirror and route it the other way. Function composition becomes a spatial design problem you can see.
HOW IT PLAYS
- Tap an empty cell, pick a gate or a mirror, and it drops into place
- Every time you place a piece, the resulting path is drawn for you
- You see whether it reaches the port before you ever press Run
- Tap a placed piece again to swap it or take it back
- No timers, no lives, no penalty for trying
FEWER GATES, MORE STARS
The tray always holds one more gate than you need. Reaching the port earns a star. Reaching it with the fewest gates earns three. There is always a shorter machine, and finding it is where the real thinking lives.
140 PUZZLES ACROSS 7 WORLDS
- Adding and subtracting
- Multiplying, dividing, and why order changes the answer
- Remainders, odd and even
- Negative numbers and flipping signs
- Fractions and reciprocals
- Squares and square roots
- True, false, and logic gates
28 DISCOVERIES TO COLLECT
Nothing is explained up front. You try, you watch, you notice. When you clear a puzzle, a card names what you just did and shows the formula behind it. Order matters. Two flips return you to the start. Doubling always gives an even number. The cards collect in a codex you can read any time.
MADE TO BE READABLE
Four shades of green, drawn like a handheld from 1989. No timers counting down, no popups, no clutter. Numbers and symbols carry the game, so it reads in any language.
FREE, WITH A ONE-TIME OPTION
Every puzzle is free. Ads appear between clears and never during play. A single purchase removes them for good.
Built for ages 8 and up, and for any adult who likes a quiet puzzle.
