icompanion is a free (no in-app purchases, no advertisement) app and webplatform (icompanion.ms) that helps you with the home monitoring of your condition. In between your doctor’s visit, a lot of information is lost: how you feel, which symptoms you experience, how strong these are, how your disability, fatigue and cognition are changing, etc. The app is currently available in English, German, French, Dutch, Italian and Spanish.
For all of this, you’ve got a companion in me! Unlike most of the other health apps, icompanion is a registered medical device. Hence, the information you monitor with icompanion can be used by your doctor to make decisions on your health. If you log-in at icompanion.ms with the same account information, you can share your icompanion information with your doctor. This can lead to more productive conversations and there is more information at hand for your doctor on how you’ve been doing.
icompanion is very easy to use, yet full of relevant information for you. In only a few minutes a day, you will have an overview of:
- Your daily mood
- Any notes you wish to add
- All your treatments, therapies, etc
- The symptoms you’re experiencing over time
- The severity of these symptoms
In addition, icompanion contains clinical tests that have been developed by the largest academic centers and that are used worldwide to monitor Multiple Sclerosis. These tests evaluate:
- Your level of disability, through the patient reported ‘Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS)’
- Your cognitive abilities, through the neuro quality of life (neuro-qol) questionnaire on cognition
- Your level of fatigue, through the neuro quality of life (neuro-qol) questionnaire on fatigue
Furthermore, icompanion allows you to upload your MRI scans to the webplatform (icompanion.ms). In this way, you can easily store all your medical scans in one secure and central space. You can scroll through your own brain scan in several directions and learn about what MRI can show (and what it doesn’t).
icompanion also includes a knowledge center, with relevant information that is explained. All of this together will help you to prepare for your doctor’s visit.
Finally, icompanion uses Apple Healthkit to collect daily steps and sleep data.
Take charge of your condition, monitor how you feel, track your health: let icompanion be your companion.

So appreciate your switching from yellow on a white background to dark blue. Still getting used to the so. like the journal function because I can use the microphone. Some of the icons are still a little difficult to see because of contrast That’s the only reason for not five stars.
Yawn.

Registering was easy after I finally found the email confirmation link the app sent me in my junk mail folder (where nothing ever goes). So far, like the other MS monitoring apps I’ve tried, it’s just a way to list how you’re feeling today, what your symptoms are, what medication you’re on...In other words, the same stuff you can enter into a private notebook without the worry of having your personal medical information hacked into on the internet. Frankly, after one day I’m already bored with it.

Not a bad app but basically worthless to me if I can’t add an entry the next day or edit past posts.
Developer Response
Hello there! On the calendar page of the app you can edit/add the data of the past days. This can be done up to 14 days in the past. We hope you will give the app another chance.
