Mimir is the podcast player for people with too many shows. Organize your library into nested groups (folders), set priorities for the podcasts you care about most, and import an existing library via OPML or Apple Podcasts. Then keep listening with Continuous Playback — pull the next episode from a group, a podcast, or your whole library — with silence skip, voice boost, and CarPlay when you need them. Stay Organized • Nested groups that work like folders for your podcasts • Collapse and expand groups to show only what you need • Set higher priority for the shows you love • Drag and drop, swipe actions, and long-press menus for fast library control Continuous Playback • An automatic playlist that always keeps the next episodes ready • Choose the source: a group, a single podcast, or auto-generated lists • Sort and filter options so Mimir queues what you actually want next • Priority-aware ordering puts your favorites first Advanced Audio Engine • Custom audio engine built for podcasts • Silence skip detects and removes silent segments • Voice Boost enhances quiet speech • High-quality playback at faster speeds • Sleep timer and customizable skip intervals Make Mimir Your Own • Light and dark mode • Color schemes and custom tint • Dynamic Type support Discover • Curated lists from podcast writing around the web • Recommendations based on what you play and prioritize • Genre charts and search Also on Mac • Native Mac app with the same library via iCloud • Organize once; listen on iPhone, iPad, and Mac And more • CarPlay • iCloud sync • Password-protected RSS feeds • Video episodes • Media Control Center support • Customizable download settings • Import and export libraries from other apps Mimir is designed and developed by a solo developer in Colorado who cares about podcast listening. Thanks for giving it a try. One-Time Purchases Mimir Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks silence skip, custom skip sounds, voice boost, Continuous Playback, custom tint colors, and color schemes on your iOS devices — without a subscription. Purchasing Mimir Pro unlocks features for all iOS devices using the same Apple ID. Mimir Pro for macOS is purchased separately. Subscription Mimir Premium unlocks all features on both iOS and macOS via a monthly or discounted yearly plan you can cancel anytime. Premium includes everything in Pro, removes ads, and also unlocks Mimir Premium on macOS. It helps cover third-party costs for recommendations, search, and curated lists. So far Mimir is almost the best podcast app I've used. The only one that edges it out is Overcast, except that Overcast doesn't have a reasonable desktop app.A few changes would put Mimir on top for me:1. A native CarPlay interface. 2. The ability to automatically download new episodes, right now they can be set to download when played, when queued, or not at all.3. The big one: The Continuous Play is great, but I'd love to be able to set it to only add episodes to the end. For example: If Podcast A has 10 episodes that should sort higher than everything else, but I have it set to only show 1 of them, it will show that one episode and then episodes of different podcasts. However, when that 1 episode ends, it will insert the next episode of Podcast A into the queue in sort order, rather than at the end of the list. That means that even though I initially only see that 1 episode in the upcoming list, it will play all 10 episodes before getting to the rest of the list. I would like it to instead play through what's already shown and any new episodes at the end. Otherwise, I'm not sure what the point of respecting the episode limit is, since all it does is not accurately show you what it will actually be playing. Those first two features would put it on par with Overcast's features. That third would make it the best by far.EDIT: Great to hear that these features are being worked on. I like Mimir a lot, and being able to switch seamlessly between iOS and MacOS is a killer feature. Looking forward to future updates!

Hello JClark, thank you for your honest and thoughtful review! I agree with all your points; CarPlay is planned for a future feature update, I'll be adding an option to customize each podcast to download new episodes when they are added, and have ideas for improving Continuous Playback as well. I really like your suggestions here on improving it, and think I can make something like that happen. Thank you for using the app and taking the time to send a review to help improve it! Grant

Coming from old iTunes-based podcast listening. I use a non-Apple mp3 player (I don't carry a phone, long story). Since Apple's Podcast app is so over-simplified and user-hostile, and its display of information is so graphic based (I prefer dense text), I gravitated quickly to Mimir. I've only used it three times, but so far so goolSuggestion: I'd like to restrict the display of recent episodes of each podcast, to say, the ten most recent. This lets me focus on relevant items, yet still maintains high density of information. Thanks for the app! I'm considering upgrading to Pro, but want to use it a while longer.

I’m giving this app a five star review because it works as expected and I’m invested in its growth since it works on MacBook and iOS with syncing.Pros: without paying or subscribing for pro, the app handles syncing between different devices. Subscribing the small amount a year gives you a fully unlocked audio engine that does silence skipping and other excellent additions. Well worth the price of admission.Cons: no CarPlay system built in. This was the one thing that was making me hesitate subscribing but opted to go for it anyway since playing a podcast still shows in CarPlay’s Now Playing platform. It’s not a full substitute but it works if you set up a long enough playlist ahead of time. Hopefully CarPlay is included in the near future.Neutral: on occasion as I play a podcast, the progress bar will sit at the end as if the podcast has finished playing even if it hasn’t (it will continue to play despite what the progress bar displays). I put this as a neutral because I don’t know if this is a bug caused by the Critical Role podcast’s files or if it’s a bug from Mimir. I don’t see this happen with the other shorter podcasts I listen to.Overall: this is a podcast app worth giving a try. I’ve tried a bunch of others and this one is head and shoulders above the other top apps out there.

Hello, and thank you for the wonderful review! I wanted to let you know that CarPlay support is definitely on my roadmap for a future update, and the episode getting suck at the end of the timeline is indeed a bug. The good news is I have fixed this bug and am currently beta testing a new version of the app that will fix this issue and add some new download features.I appreciate you giving the app a glowing review while I continue add new updates and fix issues!

Continued Bugginess Holds Mimir Back

I really like the layout and design of the Mimir app. Unfortunately it continues to have bugs that make it a less-than-ideal experience. For example, when opening the app in CarPlay, the “Now Playing “ app often won’t play; a work-around that sometimes works is to manually play the next podcast episode, than go back. Another example: when managing podcast episodes (especially if you’re managing several at a time), the player interface may freeze momentarily or not reflect your changes. This often necessitates restarting Mimir. All of the little quirks together add up to an often frustrating experience. Finally, I like the recent swipe interface changes to play next/last, and Mark as played/remove from playlist. That said, I’d like to see that expanded to the Now Playing/Next screen instead of only being accessible within each individual podcast.
