Description
Floating is a very simple yet powerful app which lets you picture in picture (pin/stick/float) as many videos, photos, and websites on top of everything.
Websites, YouTube, YouTube playlists, Netflix, Vimeo, Dailymotion, Twitch.TV, Bitchute, Rumble, Odysee, local photos, videos, PDF are supported.
Note that Floating is a menubar only app and runs only in the menubar (top right of screen).
How to use:
Simply right click the menu bar icon to float from front browser
Control, Shift, Command, 9 to float from front browser tab
Control, Shift, Command, 8 to close & float from front browser
Control, Shift, Command, 7 to float from clipboard
You can also drag website/video links or images into menu bar icon
Scroll up or down on top edge of window to change transparency
Control, Shift, Command, m to hide/minimize/maximize
Control, Shift, Command, Left Arrow for previous image
Control, Shift, Command, Right Arrow for next image
Control, Shift, Command, + to zoom in
Control, Shift, Command, - to zoom out
Control, Shift, Command, 0 to reset zoom
Pinch gesture on floating window to resize window
Note that browser method relies on AppleScript to work and only supports Safari, Chrome, Brave and Opera. Firefox doesn't have proper AppleScript support. First time using this shortcut, MacOS will ask for permission to read browser's URL for privacy and security reasons. All this happens locally and is not logged anywhere from the app.

Ratings and Reviews
Does exactly what it says it will do
This app does its job extremely well. I like that it manages to stay on top even when switching between desktopts. My only criticism is that sometimes it can be difficult to tell where in the floating window you have to click to be able to reposition it (I end up instead highlighting text half the time).
One request for future updates (and I recognize this is a big feature, and would expect to pay for it), would be to offer some kind of playlist support, so that you can queue multiple videos to play in a row. Even better would be a playlist that worked across multiple websites.
The feature you didn't know you needed
Love it once its all set up, but how it works is pretty strange, copy link you want and then the keyboard shortcut thing... I am curious how it could be better with an actual UI and possible grid view 2x1, 3x1, 3x3, 4x1, 4x4, 6x6 etc, where you could have multiple connected screens with switch like mute buttons for sounds coming from each screen. But over all its pretty cool, the opacity, click through, and how small you can actually make the screen is definetly cool features and a program that Apple needs buy from this developer.
Better than Most; Still Needs Improvement
So, most other picture-in-picture apps or extensions I've used don't work super great with Mac because it doesn't know which window I'm in. This one does!! It overlaps any of them, which is pretty cool!
My only real complaints are that it doesn't always works, you press the command keys and it might take multiple prompts to do what it actually needs to do, and it doesn't work on any video you have currently playing, it restarts it. Just small things! Overall good app!
