Every technique now opens from seven camera angles — side, raised and top-down. Try the full set free for 7 days, then unlock it once. No subscription.
Nineteen Wing Tsun hand techniques, each photographed from seven camera angles, with the theory behind every one.
Most training material shows a hand position from the front and leaves you guessing about the rest. A Bong Sau seen head-on tells you almost nothing about elbow height. Hands of Wing Tsun shows every technique from the left, the right, the front, the raised variants and directly from above, so you can check the shape you are actually making.
WHAT IS INSIDE
• 19 hand techniques: Biu Sau, Bong Sau, Fak Sau, Fook Sau, Gaun Sau, Gam Sau, Huen Sau, Jam Sau, Jip Sau, Jut Sau, Kau Sau, Lan Sau, Lap Sau, Man Sau, Pak Sau, Tan Sau, Tie Sau, Tok Sau and Wu Sau
• Seven camera angles for each one
• A full written explanation of what the technique is for and when it applies
• The Chinese name and its meaning
• Seven languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Russian
FREE, AND WHAT PRO ADDS
All nineteen techniques, their descriptions and their Chinese names are free, viewed from the front. That is the whole curriculum, not a sample.
Pro adds the other six camera angles and full zoom, so you can get close enough to read a wrist or an elbow. Try it free for 7 days, then a single purchase unlocks it for good — there is no subscription, and every future update is included.
Light, dark and system appearance throughout.
NO ACCOUNT, NO ADS, NO TRACKING
Everything is stored in the app. There is nothing to sign up for, no advertising, no analytics, and no network connection required — it works the same on a mat with no signal as it does at home.
FOR STUDENTS AND INSTRUCTORS
Useful for checking your own shape between classes, for settling an argument about where the elbow belongs, and for showing a beginner what a position looks like from a side they cannot see while they are standing in it.
Hands of Wing Tsun is a reference, not a substitute for a qualified instructor. Learn the system in a school, with a partner, under supervision.
Good basic pictures of Wing Chun hands; however, German version downloads on US App Store
987654321+
Good basic static pictures of Wing Chun hands demonstrated on anime type character. However, despite App Store advertisement showing descriptions in English, I got German language version when I dowloaded from US App Store. Asked for help via Apple to reach out to developer but haven't yet heard back. Hopefully a simple fix.
Developer Response
Hi, we just released a new version which is fixing this problem and you can change the app language very easy via Settings -> Hands of Wing Tsun [in app list] -> Language.
German only, even though English advertised
Leung Sheung’s Ghost
The app lists English as the language the app is designed. Even the App Store advertisements show screenshots of the app in English. However, when I downloaded and installed the app it is in German. There is no way to change the app language. There are no options in the app. The app has no options under Setting. There is some nonsense about using command and some other key under a question mark, but there is no question mark and the app does not allow me to access my iPhone keyboard. Basically, the app is good if you speak German and useless for all other languages. Wing Chun is about details and efficiency. This app has none of the characteristics Wing Chun values.

Language changed
Fluttershy...yay!
It had been awhile since I checked the app, but when I did the language had changed from English to (I assume) German. Is there a way to get it back to English? Because that aside it was very informative.

I must be missing something. I found nothing to warrant paying for this app.
Ashlarah
No animation. A description of the use of moves but nothing to teach you to do the moves but static diagrams.
EVERY TECHNIQUE FROM SEVEN ANGLES
The seven camera angles are now the centre of the app rather than a small row of pictures at the edge. One selection and the technique fills the screen.
CONTROLS THAT BEHAVE AS EXPECTED
Zooming, scrolling and navigating now follow the conventions that already apply on each device. There is nothing new to learn, because everything behaves the way other apps on the same device do.
Along with a light, dark and system appearance switch throughout.
A GUIDED START
A welcome screen explains on first launch how the app is operated on that particular device, and it can be opened again at any time.
PRO, AND WHAT APPLIES TO EXISTING USERS
All nineteen techniques, their descriptions and their Chinese names stay free, viewed from the front. Pro adds the other six angles and full zoom: seven days free, then a one-time unlock. No subscription.
If you already had Hands of Wing Tsun before this update, nothing is taken away. Pro is unlocked permanently and free of charge, automatically. The same goes for anyone who ever bought a coffee — thank you, Pro is yours.
IMPROVED
• The photograph now sits properly centred
• Zooming and scrolling no longer get in each other's way
• A calmer, faster start
• Missing content is reported instead of ending the app
