Text recognition finally made easy and super efficient. Textify analyzes images, recognizes text, and creates PDF files with the text integrated such that the files are searchable. Very useful and powerful for managing documents.
• Select any images or PDF as input
• Recognize text in any language
• Output as .pdf or .txt
• The created PDF have the text integrated and can thus be searched, copy/pasted,...
• Choose the output file quality, apply filters on the image
• Instant output file size preview
• Works offline, no server, 100% on device
Your privacy matters! No server, no internet connection is required. Your data is safe.
I hope you enjoy the app.
Special note for a specific use case: If you plan to OCR very old (from 1980's) dot-matrix printed documents scanned in very high resolution, the results might possibly not satisfy you. Should you encounter this issue, my advice is to reduce the quality of such dot-matrix printed document images for improved results. Anyway, the app offers OCR for free, so it's best to try it!
• Added keyboard shortcuts for the available actions
• Added support for copy/paste of images or PDFs directly to the app
• Resolves a quality issue when filtering an imported PDF

Yep, it works
Works very well with normal looking fonts and non-handwritten docs. I didn't expect it to get any handwritten words, but it does get about half of the letters right which is more than I thought it would.
Does not work well with dot-matrix printed scanned text; as declared by the developers too...
I am pleased to state, that the developer has made an honest note about the dot matrix print-scan issue.

Update: Paul is right: if you feed the app with text printed in the 1980's with characters composed of ~10 to 20 black dots, with whitespaces between theses dots, the accuracy of the OCR drops by a significant amount. Since the app is free, it is best you run a test on such documents.
Hello, sorry to see your are experiencing issues with the app. Could you please contact me at email@example.com such that I can investigate on what is going wrong? I'd love to release a fix for your issue. Regarding the accuracy of the recognition, it mainly depends on the quality of the provided image. I'd be glad to analyze that as well. Regards, Jonathan.
Message to the other readers of this: please try the app (it's free) to make your own advice because the app works well and feedbacks are really good. Textify even made Product of the day on PH. An early bad review like this really impacts my work and my family (indie dev). Thank you 😊.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
