more Ok so long review sorry but I’m just happy with this app: I’m here because my friend recommended me this app! No complaints at all for it, I’m just amazed a lot by it. Everything works like it says it does!! The themes look SUPER cool and unique, they look very well thought out! Every theme and icons app I’ve downloaded is literally horrible and doesn’t match its description at all. You have to pay for any of the actual good looking themes, even though they would advertise it like you can get a bunch of “super cool themes”, so I expected this to be the same as the rest but I was SUPER EXCITED finding out that you can literally use every single theme and widget in the app, all you have to do is watch short ads and you can permanently unlock them and use them whenever you want. This deserves to be the top app for themes and icons!!! I love that they give you an OPTIONAL payment choice, so if you wanted to remove the ads or instantly unlock everything, you can do that. But even if you don’t purchase it you still get to use everything, just have to watch short ads which is perfectly ok to me. Also I love how organized it is, AND ESPECIALLY how you can save ones you like by hearting them!!! Overall just super amazing and I’m vey impressed at how great this app turned out to be for me!!

Photo widget is amazing! I learned to use it from HappyDownloads And she is correct, its amazing! I have one pet peeve though, otherwise its good! You can customize the icons, put widgets and get new wallpapers and themes! Sorry, i have TWO pets peeves, ill share the pet peeves later, but so on you can make your own icons, which is brilliant if your goung for a type of creative thinking unique style, hee are my pet peeves. One, Happydownloads uses a ipad. Most others use ipads too in this case more easier for a bigger screen, and the themes are only shown in iPhone format, and ipads CAN use it but it looks very much different. My next pet peeve is that when you download new icons, you have to check all of it off, confirm in settings and delete apps from home screen which is much work to be honest here, I was thinking that maybe Photowidget can check off the apps you already have and uncheck the ones you dont have automatically so its less work and more people would like to get Photowidget as its easier, so thats my little recommendation and my whole story of why i chose Photowidget instead of other apps such as aesthetic kit, daily aesthetic and etc. anyway thank you for reading this prettty much report or essay. this app is great! when i first got my ipad, i really wanted to make it my own and customize it, so i was testing out different apps and found this one. and, oh boy, it’s great. i love all the features on it, especially since it’s a free app. i use both this and Widgetsmith, and they’re both absolutely great! i would highly recommend this app for anyone who is looking for a great way to customize!however, i do have one pet peeve with this app. when i was customizing my app icons, i realized that it was fairly difficult to do multiple apps at once. it was making me download a file or something like that, i don’t remember all off the details. and, this isn’t really a pet peeve, but i thought it was worth mentioning. again, when i was doing my app icons, i noticed they didn’t have Widgetsmith. i clicked on the more apps option, and it took me to a google form. when i put Widgetsmith on the first line, i noticed that the next question asked me where i was from. of course, this could just be me being paranoid, but i just thought it was worth mentioning. i only say this because if a younger child is using this, because i know they are these days, then this might throw a parent off or a child could put a location that’s too specific. just my concerns, but other than that, i absolutely adore this app! thank you, Photo Widget!

This app is VERY good. Few adds, and few times they ask for free trial. It’s really good for making your phone look nice, me personally, I love how my home page looks now. Not only can you add photo widgets, (The main reason I got this app, not realizing there were more features) but you can customize your app icons, add these cool animatics to your Lock Screen (dynamics) and you can also make widgets that tell you other things, like military time, or an event that’s going on today, or more time stuff. You can customize those too. If you’re too lazy to make stuff yourself, you can browse for online stuff. I most recommend using the internet for app icons because one, most of them are free, and two, they are EXTREMELY high quality. Some app icons are photos, some are a certain aesthetic, and some are 3D believe it or not. You’ll usually get an ad every time you are either downloading something or when you are gonna create something, but you will NEVER get an ad just out of no where while you are on the app. Like I said, this app works very well, very efficient and easy to use + it explains instructions on how to add the widgets very well. 5/5!

Hi everyone, Julie's back after just a week. Spring kind of vanished in Korea and summer showed up out of nowhere (›´ω`‹ ) Warm during the day, chilly at night.. this in-between weather just keeps going, ugh.
This time we finally launched a new widget! The [Daily Quote Widget] is now open (´∀`)b You'll get one quote a day on your home screen or lock screen, something that hits the heart a little. Read one line when you first open your phone in the morning and start your day — for that whole "main character energy"^^,,, kind of vibe, that's what I made it for. You can pick by category, or just leave it on random and get a different line every day~
And the [D-Day Widget] now has a new notification feature. Important days really can't be forgotten, right!? Turn on notifications in the widget settings and we'll remind you on the day and time you want. Anniversaries, exam days, deadlines.. give it a try.
Plus, we chewed through all sorts of code and fixed up some small bugs along the way hehe

huge thank you to Skye who was the first to flag it in detail, and to all our Korean users who chimed in with the same feedback (≧◡≦)
we just added a brand new “number only” option to the countdown widget.
toggle it on for a clean number-only look, or toggle it off to see the number along with how much time is left.
use it however feels right to you ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ
and now, a little careful note about dual mode…
the calendar dual mode was honestly so pretty, but when widget dual mode became a paid feature, some of you couldn’t enjoy the original design in M size anymore. we really should’ve caught this earlier, and we’re sorry we didn’t (›´ω`‹ )..
we noticed it a bit late, but we’ve adjusted the policy this time.
dual mode is now paid only when combining different widget types, and combining the same widget type with itself is back to being free, just like before.
hope you can decorate your home screen beautifully again, however you like (´▽)!

We’ve gathered your feedback saying that more and more features felt like they were being locked behind paywalls, and made some adjustments in this update.
First, we’ve removed the premium restriction on the 21-photo limit!
Ads are still necessary for us to keep the service running… so we really appreciate your understanding ( ;_; )
We’ve also made “paid designs” for Memo and To-do free again.
And of course, we’ve fixed several issues and bugs along the way.
Photowidget has always been something built together with you.
We’re truly sorry that the recent monetization changes may have felt too sudden or too heavy.
We’ll be more careful and thoughtful with our direction moving forward.
In the next update, more features will also be made free again,
and we’re preparing more beautiful and fun features as well, so please stay tuned.
We’re also working on new widgets and lightweight features
that you can enjoy for free through simple interactions.
We’re still a small team, so we can’t build everything at once,
but we’ll keep working to make phone customization easy, fun, and beautiful—

This time, we focused on fixing issues that happened when you had lots of photos in your widgets, and made those widget borders look much nicer too! We also made some small design updates in My Page~~ Bugs got fixed super quickly as always! ( ´△｀)
Next update… something many of you were sad to see go from the lock screen… “Today’s Fortune” is coming back (finally..)

Julie is back. This time, our AI wallpapers got a full makeover, hehe.
It’s now easier to create all kinds of wallpapers, and you can also check out what others have been making.
Give a like to wallpapers you enjoy, and download the ones you love.
If you see something you like and want to try it yourself, you can even reuse the AI prompts used to create that wallpaper ('ㅂ')b
We’re also a little excited to see how many likes and downloads our own wallpapers will get… (¬‿¬)
If you were surprised that the horoscope widget disappeared, please hang in there just a bit longer. We’re rebuilding it from scratch, so it’s taking some time. But it’ll be back soon, with even more accurate and almost spooky predictions.
We’ve also quickly fixed the bugs you reported.
Things like text size issues in the lock screen memo widget, and image quality drops have been improved thanks to your feedback.

Many of you were surprised when the horoscope widget suddenly disappeared from the Lock Screen ( ;_; )
We’re currently giving it a major upgrade!
The horoscope widget was already known for being uncannily accurate, and with this revamp, we’re making it even better.
It’ll be back soon, so please don’t be too disappointed.

This time, we fixed a lot of icon-related bugs (´•ω•`) ...how did they even break like that... I’m so sorry.
Once you update, everything should work normally again!
With spring coming, we’ve been adding lots of bright and pretty wallpapers and widgets.
Did you notice? hehe
I hope you decorate your Home and Lock screens nicely for the new season.
Right now, the PhotoWidget team is doing a big revamp of “Widget Edit.”
So you can make widgets more easily, more comfortably, and more beautifully.
And use even more options!
We’re working really hard on it. The next update will feel totally different, so please look forward to it (-ω-)

Lately, PhotoWidget’s Home screen and Discover feed have been popping off with trending store items, pink-pink lovely themes for the upcoming Valentine’s Day, and 3D widgets and wallpapers that really stand out.

This week, we’ve been uploading lots of new content, but we also worked on many behind-the-scenes improvements.
We updated My Page so you can check your liked items, purchases, and the widgets or icons you made much more easily — and fixed a bunch of broken stuff along the way.

Hi, it’s Julie, back again~ (-ω-)
This time, we finally made it — the [Transparent Widget] is here.
Yes, it actually works. (Endless thanks to Andy for the nonstop effort.)
Now you can use images with transparent backgrounds in PhotoWidget — like cut-out idol photos or cute little objects — and place them on your Home Screen without any widget background color, so everything looks clean and truly transparent.
I’ve already made a bunch of cute widgets with this, and I’ll be adding lots of them to the [Discover] tab.
We also tweaked a few screens so saving widgets, icons, and wallpapers feels smoother and doesn’t break your flow.
PhotoWidget is still doing its best to help you decorate your iPhone and iPad easily, comfortably, and nicely.
January in Korea is seriously cold.
People say it’s colder than Russia… and honestly, I believe it (›´ω`‹ ) This week’s lowest “feels like” temperature is (yes, really) minus 23°C. It’s so cold it almost makes me want to cry. Even as I’m writing this, my fingers are freezing. Please send help (›´ω`‹ )..!!!
If you’re living through winter like me, stay warm and be careful not to catch a cold.
And if you’re on the other side of the planet enjoying warm weather, remember to drink lots of water (important) and don’t let the heat wear you out.

Hi everyone, it’s Julie, back right on update day.
And wow… it’s already the start of 2026 (›´ω`‹ )
Even if I don’t love getting older, time doesn’t really wait for us, so I’m trying to take it as it comes.
Wishing all our PhotoWidget friends a healthy, happy New Year with lots of good energy.
For our first update of 2026, this one’s mostly about bug fixes (;´Д`)
We fixed an issue where your widgets weren’t showing up on My Page, and also resolved a problem where the LINE Music app wouldn’t open in Japan.
On top of that, we went through a bunch of smaller issues—calendar widget font size not adjusting, wallpaper editing problems, broken zodiac widgets, and more—and cleaned things up so everything works properly again. Lots of digging through code to make things behave.
I used to really dislike cold winters.
But lately, I’ve been trying to think, “Winter should feel like winter,” and somehow it doesn’t bother me as much.
In fact, knowing that the sharp, clear cold air will fade in a month or two almost makes me feel a little… nostalgic already.
(Yes, this is probably what getting older feels like—when passing time starts to feel precious.)
You might be thinking, “Where did that come from?” (-ω-)ゝ
I guess while sharing PhotoWidget updates, I ended up sharing a bit of how I’ve been lately too.
Alright, back to work for me (¬‿¬)
Please drink plenty of water (this is important), take good care of yourselves this January, and have a healthy start to the year.
If you’ve set New Year’s goals, I hope you stick with them. If not, it’s not too late—maybe take this week to think about what you’d like to try.

I’m feeling a bit sad today because the transparent widget update didn’t work out… (still trying!)
A few bugs piled up all at once, so that made it even sadder.
Some of you might notice that your widgets are working fine,
but the widget album isn’t showing up on My Page
(even though the number of widgets is still there).
Don’t worry — it’s not deleted.
It’s just temporarily not visible, so please wait a little longer… (›´ω`‹ )
Now then, some good news.
Various widgets and wallpapers are being updated,
and quite a lot of free content has been added for you.
That said, I’ve also heard from many of you that
watching ads is difficult because of Screen Time.
Ah… what should we do…
The world is cold, and if we can’t make any money,
PhotoWidget could actually be in danger…
So removing ads isn’t easy at all.
But I’ll keep thinking and try to come up with a better solution.
2025 is really, truly disappearing now.
And somehow, my youth seems to be disappearing along with it!!!
This is bad. A real crisis.
Since Christmas is slowly coming to an end this week,
try switching to a New Year D-day widget
and start counting down.
Take a moment to look back on what kind of year 2025 was,
make a list of things you want to finish before the year ends,
and turn it into a to-do widget too. Hehe.
With only a little bit of 2025 left,
let’s all stay healthy, avoid catching colds,
and wrap up the year gently together.

Hi! Julie’s back again. We packed so much into this update. You’ll notice it right from the first screen — the home colors got a sneaky little glow-up, and all your fave phone-deco items are now split into Recommended and Popular.
And yep… that means the old Store menu quietly slipped into hiding, and now you can check everything from Discover in one place. Search also got way stronger, so it should feel a lot smoother now.
I also added new fluffy-style wallpapers because I’ve been really into them lately. (Right after cute animal photos, they’re totally my fave.) Hope you guys like them too (´∀`)b
Oh, and about transparent widgets… I really tried to make them happen this time but ended up missing it. I think I’ll finally get it to work in the next update. It was so close, but something just didn’t come together at the end. Sad… BUT YES, TRANSPARENT WIDGETS ARE STILL COMING!
And if it somehow doesn’t work again… I might owe you an apology for getting excited too early (›´ω`‹ )
Also! Korea had its first big snowfall in the first week of December. If you’re here too, did you get to enjoy it? My commute turned into an ice path, so I was a little sad… (very office-worker behavior, I know?)
Depending on where you are, it might be winter like me — or you could be in full-on summer on the opposite side of the world. But honestly, December feels exciting everywhere with Christmas and the year-end vibes coming up.

Can you believe November is already almost over? The fact that 2025 is just one month away… and that we’re all leveling up in age again… unreal. You know how it goes — life is basically a roll of toilet paper; the more you use it, the faster it disappears… and mine is rolling way too fast…
Anyway! You’ve got winter break coming, Christmas on the way, and all that good year-end energy, so I put a lot of love into this update for you.

On your Home screen, tap the Refresh button at the bottom right, or just pull down, and boom — the curation switches up instantly.
I wanted to make it easier and smoother for you to browse lots of different content. Hope it hits the spot (´∀`)b
