New in 5.2: a Calendar layout that shows the weather for your plans, right from your calendar.
Big Weather puts the weather in your Mac's menu bar. The temperature is always in view; one click opens the forecast for where you are, or anywhere in the world.
With Premium, your Mac writes a few words about the weather in the menu bar ("Rain tomorrow") and a short rundown of the week, using Apple Intelligence. Official weather warnings appear word for word from the issuing agency.
Free for everyone:
• Current temperature, wind speed and gusts, pressure and humidity
• Hourly temperature and rain for the next 48 hours
• 3-day forecast
• UV for the next two days, shown in the menu bar when it's high
• Today's high and low, and when they happen
For Premium users (subscription with free trial and lifetime options available):
• Weather data from Apple Weather, hourly and daily, 10 days ahead
• AI insights, written on your Mac by Apple Intelligence: a few words about your day in the menu bar and a short rundown of the week. In English, German and French. Requires macOS 27 and a Mac with Apple Intelligence. Your location is never sent to an AI service.
• Official weather warnings, word for word: in the panel, on each day they touch, and in the menu bar. Available where Apple's weather service carries them: the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe (MeteoAlarm).
• More frequent updates
Customize the app to your needs:
• Keyboard shortcut to open and close the panel
• Celsius, Fahrenheit or both; your choice of units for rain, wind and pressure
• Resize the panel by dragging any edge or corner
• Settings open beside the forecast, so you see each change as you make it
• Graphic or Minimalist layout
• Light, dark or automatic appearance; translucent or opaque panel
• In English, German and French
Weather data: WeatherAPI.com (free), Apple Weather (Premium).

Terrific menu bar app
Lost car
This is an excellent menu bar app. Selecting the menu bar graphic brings excellent, clear and concise graphics.
Promising but Lacking
headlocker
I love that it resides in the menu bar and that once clicked it will allow you to drag the window wherever you want. Unfortunately, you cannot resize it nor can you change the color of the UI. It does lack a lot of other important information for people who may require a robust app due to weather extremes. I downloaded a number of the other weather apps and found them all dissatisfying. i did contact the dev who responded promptly to my questions. I just wish this app could be developed or the other weather app devs take a page from this UI.
Developer Response
Thank you for the fair review and your email. The feature ideas are definitely appreciated and I did look into the resizing. In practice it can be a bit of larger reconstruction than one might think, so unfortunately can't promise it would make the cut.
Not enough weather info to warrant subscription price
JeJoMc
Like the graphics, but only temperature, UV, wind and gust are shown. Barometric pressure AND humidity are vital and needed before this program is ready for $7.99 USD yearly.Fix this lack of information and perhaps I will take another look.
Developer Response
Hey JeJoMc, thank you for the candid review. In the latest version pressure, rainfall and summaries and more have been added. Humidity on the way! EDIT: Humidity added as well!
A new Calendar layout shows the weather for your plans, from your calendar.
For Premium customers:
• The Calendar layout (Settings → Layout → Calendar) puts Today beside This week: the temperature, the day's headline, the next 48 hours and your plans for today and tomorrow, then the week and your plans later in it, each with the weather at its time. Picking it asks macOS for access to your calendar.
• Your plans sit on the 48-hour chart, each in its calendar's color, with the way there and back marked.
• A plan more than 20 km away shows that place's forecast, and the chart follows you there. When your calendar doesn't say how you'll get there, Apple Maps times the drive there and back.
• With Apple Intelligence, a trip in your calendar, a flight, a train or an all-day event such as "Barcelona", brings that place's forecast: your plans there get its weather, the week shows those days under its name, and the week's AI summary goes place by place. When the trip is someone else's, such as "Emma in Paris", you stay home and their days there are shown alongside yours.
• Click a plan for its details: when it is, the weather hour by hour, where, who is invited and its notes, with Open in Maps and Open in Calendar.
• The summary for the day in the menu bar can name a plan: "Football practice 4PM: light rain". Turn off Include plans, under Show summary for the day, to keep plans out of the menu bar.
• The week's AI summary shows as soon as the panel opens.
• Official warnings from European weather services show the color the service gives them.
For everyone:
• Scroll the hourly chart and the UV chart through the forecast with two fingers, and pinch them to show more or fewer hours. Each chart keeps its zoom, and Now takes you back.
• A slider under the hourly chart shows anything from 24 hours to 10 days, or to 3 days without Premium.
• The hourly chart names each day at midnight, with the hours on your Mac's clock in between.
• Swipe with two fingers on the panel to move between layouts.
• Right-click the menu bar item to change the Menubar and Units settings right there, or for Settings and Quit.
• User interface fixes and improvements.
