Enjoy a simple, distraction-free experience with no account to link.
This app is for two kinds of users:
1. Everyday users who want to cast and interpret hexagrams on their own
2. I Ching enthusiasts and professionals
## Purpose
- Explore ancient wisdom and bring the I Ching into modern life.
- When unsure about a decision, consult a hexagram. Traditional casting and interpretation methods offer guidance for everyday decisions.
## Easy for Everyone
**Complete a consultation with no prior knowledge of the I Ching.**
- Clear guidance at every step, from asking a question and choosing a method to casting a hexagram and interpreting the result.
- Several traditional casting methods, including Yarrow, Lueshi, Coins Tossing, and Drawing Lots.
- Practical, intuitive casting that helps you stay focused. Choose Manual mode for a sense of ritual or Auto mode for speed.
- Questions and results from Formal Divination can be saved on your device for later review and comparison.
- AI-assisted interpretation offers clear explanations based on your question and hexagram, helping you consider other perspectives.
- Casting and interpretation incorporate ideas from various I Ching schools and Takashima's reference material, including *Takashima Ekidan*, for reference and practice.
## Tools for Deeper Study
**A pocket toolkit for I Ching enthusiasts and professionals.**
- Find hexagrams quickly by combining upper and lower trigrams, switching yin and yang lines, or using the hexagram sequence song. Keyword search takes you straight to the hexagram you need.
- Learn through level-based games such as drawing hexagrams and guessing their names, gradually becoming familiar with their structure.
- Explore Shao Yong’s theories, Jing Fang’s Na Jia, Cyclical Hexagrams (Xiao Xi), *Yi-Lin*, and Ref to Zhu Xi through interactive features for quick lookup, study, and practice.
## Purchases and Subscriptions
Formal Divination, additional AI usage, some detailed reference material, and advanced features require a subscription or in-app purchase. See the app for details on included features and usage limits.
## Additional Notes
Practice can be unlocked by watching a rewarded video ad. Its question and record features differ from those of Formal Divination.
